There are no other options for folks who like the v1.65 version. Even Genesis is an amalgamation of different versions. They are more aimed towards that RvR only crowd, as they say on their "The Vision" section of the webpage.

So i can short your sentence in :

The ones which like to do RvR should go to Genesis because of fast reach of lvl 50, RP for getting a keep, SI implemented and Endu reg pots runs for 10 minutes, Mellee/caster balance, Quick Ports and Porters.

This ones which wanna do PvE, sit on Horses for hours, wait for ports 15? minutes, 1-2 minutes endu reg pots, invest month to reach lvl 50, no rp for conquer a keep, no SI implemented and no templates should play Uthgard.

I second your statement and im glad i am not the only one, which wonder about this Server...
Danke Uthgard für 10 Jahre

I have little to tolerance for anything that raises the bar on RVR entry, as it is just increasing the time sink aspect. Time sinks have a justifiable reason for companies that make money off them. We all accepted that for years on, since it was worth it from a "time invested" vs "fun" pov.
What has changed is: staff is not profiting from the time sinks and peoples priorities and time available has changed significantly. I somehow have a hard time wrapping my mind around the reasoning behind all of this.

My premise is that everyone is playing Uthgard to go to the frontiers and experience RVR (solo, small scale, 8v8, 8vX, XvX, stealther zerg.. you name it). Most of the nostalgic difficulties you recreate here are just raising the bar on entry and make the general experience a more limited one (lower general variety of possible setups and viable character builds, endu vs mana balance, etc.).
I have an especially hard time seeing how the old maps, teleport rituals, limitations on hybrids and the old RA system are helping to incite constant RVR action.

The point of Uthgard to me is the crowd of people playing RVR in a pre-EA and non-ToA environment. Not the patch level catechism or the nostalgia. If this turns out to suck for too many people resulting in declinging pop below a critical mass in the frontiers, it is going to be kkthxbye.
