Hello my fellow Hibernians!

I just joined Uthgard and I'm loving it. I quit playing after ToA. Reupped for the Classic servers but didn't stay long. This server is exactly what the game should be.

I started my Ranger on Percival the day the game went live and played him exclusively (for the most) until I quit. So, yes, I'll be playing a Ranger again, in spite of the stealth zerg debacle.

Hope to see you out there! I'm always willing to help wherever I can!

I understand the frustration, honestly. I remember the influx of Rangers back on Percival and it kinda ticked me off, then.

If it's any consolation, I rarely ever RvR'd in Emain... Midgard was my second home. I plan to uphold that tradition as much as possible... with some Hadrian's mixed in, for good measure. ;)

Hopefully, if I can find some people to join me, we'll spread some RvR action around the frontiers.

BTW, I play around 8pm US West Coast time each night if anyone would care to join me.

Welcome to Uthgard and to Hib.

Its allwes nice to see a new ranger joining, regardless what others say about them. Some like to complain about the ranger, but dont worry there is way more assasins running around, so dont expect to many rangers when you get to 50. Here is some info about the current stat of the ranger/archers, you may want to know.

1. There is auto training with bow, so if you want those extra pts, do not spec into bow till 48, and if you do, make sure you respec out of bow before hitting the next auto train level.

2. Archery damage isnt the highest and the chance your enemy will block is quiet high, so id suggest focusing more on melee, or else you will not last long on the ground. I personaly spec for 35 bow for volley and rapid fire and 39 pierc spec. I can do good in melee and bow is decent enough to peak away on someone.

3. There is a decent working volley on this server, at 35, 40,45,and 50 bow spec. It is useful for hitting someone behind a wall, if they try to hide. If used smart, youl tick of people lol, which is allwes fun.

4. Arrows on uthgard weigh 2x the normal value, because of a issue they cant seem to fix. So keep that in mind, to avoid being encoubered.

5. Archery procs do not work on uthgard and has been a known bug for a long time, so dont expect bow procs any time soon.

6. Archery icons are kinda screwed up, because its old archer and not new archery so some icons are not currect and my require you modding your icon sets to fix it , if you want to.

7. If you want to use bow in the BG's, but want to keep auto train, dont worry about it, you dont have to spec bow for Braemar and Wilton , the bow damage is decent enough, so focus on Melee and PF. And yes you can easly kick ass in Braemar and Wilton, but expect that to change a little in thid and alot when you hit 50.

8. Since there is no buffbots here and no buffbot NPC's, make sure you take advantage of your PF line for buffs, it isnt an extra advantage, its a requirement for are class to survive. Min of 40-42 PF at 50 id suggest.

9. On uthgard you will need to carry some stat buff pots/charges to survive most fights at 50, as almost all enemys will have as much as they can get there hands on. Its not a buffbotting server, but expect there to be buffing going on, and your PF will not make up for that. Id suggest carrying 2 stat Pots and 2 charges, giving you 4 buffs in 1min. I use str/con, con Pots and Haste, 150 HP absorb buff from charge. You can get away with 2 buffs and no extra buffs vs easyer targets, but there is alot high rank and experenced players around.

10. Desprate Bowman does work on uthgard, exept isnt essences damage, so expect some dmg reduction on it. May not be a big deal though.

11. If you ever had shared poisons with friendly assasins, you will not be able to do that on uthgard, custom change to ..... well i dont know, ++ for assasins i guess lol.

12. Default Being detected range in stealth is like 125 units, so if your stealth level matches your enemy, they will still see you up to 125 units, unless they have MoS or detect hidden, depending on camo being up or not. And add 25 units for each level of stealth below your targets level.

13. The style horizon blade , return blade in blade spec are based on parry/blocking, so if you want to go blade spec, dont expect a evade style in blade line.

14. While leveling up on uthgard, you can not take use of items that are like i think 6 levels above you, exept armor and weapons. So if you get a high level weapon or armor you can take advantage of the extra stats, at the cost of increased dur cost.

15. Elevation bonus/penalty for archery does work on uthgard. The formula goes, for every 2 unites above/below your target adds/reduces your range by 1 unit. Max bonus/penalty = 500 units of range

16. As you level up to 50, take advantage of the BG's to gain your highest RRs possible, because when you hit 50, the RVR will become alot harder, and youl need every RR you can get.

17. To help level faster, enter Braemar at 32 (max lvl 35), Wilton at 40 (max lvl 43) and thid at 46 (max lvl 49) and RvR for xp, it is alot faster and you should be able to take on most enemys that are 3 lvls above you, some times, but the enemys will very in level in the BGs. But make sure to do /xp off when you hit that BG's lvl cap, so you can get to max RR in that BG.

Well that is all i can think of to suggest for now. I hope you enjoy your time on uthgard playing your ranger.

Thanks for the welcome! I played with a hybrid spec (35 bow/48PF/34pierce) for 4 years on Percival. I wanted to try a higher bow spec here, but if the archery damage has been nerfed, maybe I'll stick with my original spec. Did they just decrease the overall Archery Damage?

This is awesome. I hated bots!

Bleh, can't say I'm thrilled with this, but I'll make due. I think pots/charges are mini-bots. Guess I'll have to level an Alchy Alt!

Thanks, again for the info!

P.S. Clowd, just find me and we'll duo! Name is Emeryc.
