Hi all,

I recently got some weapons for my ranger and I'd like to know what ranger veterans (i'm certainly not one) think about these possible setups.

Till now, I've been playin around with a dual flawless Dagger of the Soulshade config: not optimal for quality and speed (dual 2.9 is meh), but very fun and somewhat effective for the many bt procs i can get during a combat.

Still, now I'm thinking to change setup: i got Basalt Rapier, MPs (3.9, 3.3 OH or faster) and also Basalt Sword of Bedlam if I decide to go slash. I still like pierce though. I'm a fan of lifedrain and even if Basalt is kinda fast (3.5) I was thinking about going Basalt MH and MP OH (3.3 maybe). I also use haste charge. Another setup i'd like to try is Basalt MH and Soulshade Oh, but i guess bts won't proc very often if not at all. At the same time, I could also go 3.9 MP MH (dot) and 3.3 MP OH same).
What u guys think?

i've heard some poeple who have used quality increase scroll on this blade in order to make it more decent in term of dps.

i thought about that too but 15p+ for 1% increase seems a lil bit too much for me

Hey Kryss, I think I can help you on this. I play a ranger as my main (Zacknafein) and I use the Basalt Rapier of Chaos and a MP offhand 3.3 spd. It works great. Damage is fine and you attack at a good speed with yellow d/q self buff and haste. It really does work well. I have thought as well about switching to one of the BT proc piercers for my offhand if I ever decide to make a new template. The problem is, as you pointed out, the BT proc would not go off that often, not to metioin that if I did this I would need to invest ALOT more money towards making another template. If you do decide to stay pierce and not use the BT weapons I think you will be pleased with the 3.5/3.3 spd weapons. Also, I have a fully maxed template with all the nice charges if you are interested. The only problem is that it is VERY expensive if your not willing to farm all the items you need. It has Bracer of Winds, Basalt Rapier of Chaos, Ravagers Pride, Worm Dex Bracer, Adamantine Barrier, and the Hardened Wormhide Cloak. I also have a Body Necklace and Glimmer Prince bracer with the 150 mhb charge on it. The last 2 items are not actually in my template but give a HUGE boost on the charges. Thx for the advice, i might try the Basalt/MP combo then. I got the same items as you actually (except for adamantine and fiosrach), so it will not be diff to temp another suit.

You should get the bracer if you can, it's EXTREMELY useful.

150 MHB charge is HUGE!! Nothing like taking 1/2 hits for the first 2-4 hits in battle.
