I'm getting towards level 12 on my first character, a light eld.
I've not found much info on finalized templates however. Can anyone point me in the right direction for what I might work towards, specifically, in a light eld template? Thanks for any advice. |

What kind of Finalized Templates? SC or Spec? SCs can be found easily in the Forum. Viable specs for Light Elds are:
47 Light 26 Mana. This will give you the best possible AoE Mezz, the strongest Nuke, Snare Nukes, Deasease, strongest NS and a Pbaeo that onehits Earthpets. 46 Light 28 Mana. Same as the other one, you just trade in the last AoE Mezz against a Str/Con Debuff. |
|
For leveling go full light till 20, then respec to full mana till 49.9 then go 46Light/28Mana. Get MCL1 for lvling, LW1, purge1 then pd4 raging power, then dmg RAs.

Really not sure what a lot of these acronyms mean, and they don't seem to be documented anywhere easily findable. Anyone fill me in on some of this stuff? The "How to Read Templates" post doesn't even really cover a lot of acronyms from what I've seen. |

If you are that new in Daoc, i d recommend leveling a BM first. Its easy to play and you ll find a RvR grp much easier. Eld is not straight forward to play

Plenty of experience playing this style game... just need filled in on the acronyms though to make the appropriate choice.

What kind of experience exactly? What "style" do you think DAoC has? Seriously, Light Eld is probably the most difficult class to play in hibernia. And you need a lot of knowledge about the game before you can actually tell which one of your 10 spells fits best in the given situation..

100% agree |

Druid/Bard is harder

I simply don't agree. With the whole statement. ^^

I've been playing druid for a while, tbh eld is really hard, just have a look to one fact, there's way more decent druid on uth than decent eld, is that mean that most of eld are noob ? no it just show that's a harder class with really many way to play it. I admit that bard is "hard" but you don't have that much stuff to manage as for an eld. The hardest part of bard job is too produce a decent rupt. The hardest part of eld is to use all the tools in a fight without running perma oop and while doing it at the best moment. TBH, if you plan to play eld, take your time it's a hard class, but imo that's the best group char of daoc ! :p |
|
bard is harder and alot less unforgiving then eld. So not true about it being the hardest! :>
|
|
it's just easy to see if a bard suck :p |
|
and its easy to see, since bard is hard.... xD |

Don't know how many people here have played classic T2A era UO... but this class so far really doesn't seem too difficult. It really seems like bad advice to tell someone to go play an entirely different breed of class than they started with. I've always played a pure magi, and enjoy the class so far. Won't be rerolling just to pick something "easier", heh.
Not everyone has played DAOC for 10 years. My main point is that there doesn't seem to be a central place to get up to speed on lingo/acronyms/terms. I don't mean to sound brash, but honestly my initial post stated this is my first character... so I'm just trying to tease out what means and actually learn something over button mashing w/ something easymode. |
