I am looking to play in hibernia.. but my problem is i do not know which class i should choose, i am looking for a class that is needed in many groups but can also solo pretty well. The majority of my time i spend leveling on this game is during non peak hours. This involves me soloing quite a bit, but i also need a character who is viable for groups. My race or preference is lurikeen but .. any will do .. The classes i was looking to play are HERO or a DRUID or maybe a WARDEN. Been reading lots but not sure as to what is best for each and how they are in solo and in group situations. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time!!

Well, if luriken is your race of choice, you cant go for a warder or a druid, unfortunately, but dont despair, go for the ranger! Youre likely to find groups in endgame rvr in emain, at the amg, almost 24/7 with players playing the same class, the same way, what a challenge! And especially since there are rarely visible hib groups around, you might have more action with the ranger than with any visible toon playing hiberina.

Now, some delusional talks:
The most usefull class to play is probably an eldritch. A good eld can turn the battle, a bad one is just a hindrance...
A druid is probably not the wisest choice, since hibernia doesnt seem to lack them and warden are not that welcome in endgamervr. There are exceptions though.
If you go for a hero, luri might be a funny choice, but unlikely to be choosen over a celt or firbolg. There are expections, especially on the forums, with people telling you that they would definetely choose a luri hero over anything else, but i havent seen any luri tanks in rvr for a while so i wouldnt trust their opinion.
If you were to make a druid, still, youre likely to levelup pretty fast with having lots of plats to spare for a decent template in the end. Make a celt druid. Most are celt druids so your only chance to etch yourself intot he memory of others would be through your gameplay, either good or bad. If you were to make a sylvan you would definetely stand out more, but then again you would have to be quite good, else everyone will know that grouping that sylvandruid was like wasting the spot for a warden(in worst case :P).

Good luck choosing.

eldritch eh, well what are some specs that are good for solo leveling and such .. also how bad is a luri hero.. i loved them in live.. well seeing them around .. thought those little guys were awesome to see running around lol ... and if you do go hero .. of any race what weapon choice is best.. thrust.. slash?... and the one most viable for solo leveling and such...

I believe my gameplay is good enough that i would be able to be that luri hero everyone askes for ;) but anywyas thanks again for the help.. keep them posts rolling in!!

A average RvR group in hibernia constist of 2 druids, 1 Bard, 1 eld and and 4 melee chars. 3 of the 4 melee chars will be probably damage dealers and, therefore, filled by blademasters. So, in a group, the most frequently character is a blademaster.

Additionally, a blademaster/bard combination form a good 2-man group in hibernia.

Although blademaster have no stealth, they are very good in 1on1 combat against other classes.

Blademaster can spec medium shields and, therefore, can be used as a tank in PvM.

From a logical point of view, blademaster is the most rational choise to go.

However, to get this BM into some great armor that will allow you to be good, you're going to need money.

So my suggestion is animist, done right, possibly the best solo farmers and lvl up really fast. Takes almost no money either.

I have a sylvan druid lvl 50 :p Works very well, have no problem healing as well as a celt. I even ran with a glowie staff in my template for kicks.
For a challenge go eld or bard. Tanks try luri block bot or firb bm. While evey group needs a mana ment to lvl only 1 is needed. Meanwhile bombs can take up to 3 spots. That said id still go with a ment (mana to lvl, rwspec light at 49-50). More opportunity to rvr imo. (Yes i undwrstand chanter debuff rocks)

I'm gonna have to reaffirm that making a tank for your first toon isn't the best choice. These others may have played so long that they don't remember/understand what it's like to try and buy armor, weps, and have them SC'ed and enchanted, while having almost no help because you're new, but it's ridiculous and I wouldn't recommend it. Even if you go with a caster like testy the newb suggest, you'll be left without a farmer at 49-50 after the respec, and you'll be in the same boat.

Go animist! Hard to figure out how to play at first (ground targets), but once you get a low lvl focus staff and figure out how to moderate, things really pick up. And like I said, they're farm heavy enough that you'll be able to support your other toons and you'll be needed in raids.

btw, ff7 greatest video game, ever.

99 qual studded 99 qual weapons, same jewelery as for a druid. you can solofarm, instead of having to lvl a new char directly after finnishing your first one. This money you will have from lvling 40-50

Yes, it will work exactly like this for your first toon. And you'll also have all kinds of people begging to craft you things at cost.

Don't need at cost, studded is super cheap and theres plenty of them in housing for very low prices.

around 1.4p for full armor set. Farm the jewlery in duo, the actual sc is what is the most expensive, and if you dont got around 1.4p when you hit 50 you did something seriously wrong. Mainhand about 350g offhand is like what 150g. this is not much money, this is not hard to farm with or without a group, with or without a full allcap template.

But I guess its the evil elitist time again, because you know what... farming for a few hours or lvl an extra character to 50 just so you can do the 5 hours of farming you needed sounds great!

If you would be realy evil elitist, you would have tell them that for pure group pvp, BMs even dont need dex in template (pierce Bms excluded).

Fine, BM is a viable first choice, but I think it's more likely he'll get to the frontiers, think "hey, this isn't as fun as the BGs", and reroll. In which case an ani would be a better choice.

I still use my Thid temp which cost me around 5p, same goes for the other keen. I had the money before I hit 50, and this should be possible with almost every hib char.

Use 99% SC Armor and weapons + midar / df drops and you are ready to go, you do not need any fancy items.
