I recently made a Nightshade to compare leveling with a Ranger. So far I am really enjoying the damage output of the shade with Weapon/envenom/celtic dual. Is it absolutely necessary to Autotrain the Nightshade for the two extra points you get? If I do choose to Autotrain will it leave me gimped when I enter the first BG?

Auto is not so bad, I could still PA ppl easily in braemar, then it became more difficult but u just need to get to 48 to enjoy thid again. I autoed and I'd do it again if I had to restart

I autotrained my NS until lvl 32, then I specced it to enjoy braemar :)
I didnt put any point on Critical Strike for Braemar and Wilton, so I played like a BM with poison, and I really enjoyed it ^^
But for thid, I respeced CS to get PA and become a real NS ^^ and as an only lvl 32 autotrained NS, i really enjoyed Thid, and I pretty roxxed there^:p

Braemer is doable, Wilton is tough, but keep in mind you can catch up all that at lvl48 (last AT level) and go with a superior spec to thidranki!

If you are planning to take your NS beyond RR5, I absolutely recommend to do AT (it won't slow down your pve time, in contrary!).
If it's just a fun toon for the battlegrounds and the occational guard task mission, of course skip AT and have fun in the BG.

My personal oppinion is that braemer/wilton are not worth it. You cap out of braemer on a busy sunday afternoon, and out of Wilton in a weekend. 2.5 days of fun are not worth the headaches that follow afterwards in finding a good spec with less points, plus you can all make up for it in Thidranki once you hit 48 and unleash your full potential :))

Other than having some RA's to help level and then respeccing, I rather wait for Thid and cap out there. If it were my first character I might do battlegrounds along the way, but PvE and PvP specs differ so drastically, I don't see why not to wait. That being said, battlegrounds can be a ton of fun.

Auto is easy to do so no reason not to do it, if u worried about braemar and wilton so u manage fine there. As a visual viper bot u are a killing machine against low resist randoms. When u get viper2 its so much easier to xp to, just run some extra weapons in inv and u chaining oranges with easy.

I've done this recently. Up till 40+ you don't even need stealth. You can still get off PA quite easily. And the number of enemies with stealth seems so low it's not really a worry.

Play a stun + poison bot! So get side stun and evade stun with poison at your lvl. You'll be laughing!

From Thid you really can't go without a template and stealth. I tried at 44, specced for it (have a stone so I won't miss the final autotraining step). But it's really not doable. So lvl from 43-48 and then go into Thid with gear!

So as my 2 cents, you don't need to spec stealth until Thid. If you do, just respec right before hitting 40/44/48 and you'll still get AT..

And have fun!

i autotrained my Ns until lvl 48 , that's why im higher rr than Fabulabelle :D

Ten months ago , in wilton , we had "realm speed"
My ns had 10 in stealth +10 bonus +mos 2 it was enough for PA when people come by front "with the speed"

for now , people walk slowly ! because in wilton u cant have realm speed !
so ... it's hard to PA people with autotrain.. because he see u when he come on u (and he have time to straf u )

Look at his lastname : "Blablabla"... :P ahah

By the way, I agree a bit with other post, auto train Stealth can worth it, but you will just be an easy target in braemar and wilton, so better for you not to go there :p or you will be disappointed :D
