I am new to the game I used to play when it was first released. My question is about soloing back then Enchanters were unstoppable and their pet did a damage increase.. is that the case still? I was also thinking about a animist can anyone tell me a good soloing class or a link to find specs and templates so i dont mess up training right away

Animist and Enchanters can both solo.
But what you have to know about that 2 classes:

Animists:
- Intell doesn't influence bombers
- Animists are not really appreciated in lvl50 rvr
+ They are huge gold farmers
+ If you like mushrooms, you will be like in heaven ^^

Enchanters:
- You cannot buff your pet
- That's why the focus pull is not really appreciated in grp
- Casters grp are not really appreciated in Hib "classic" rvr setup (cause it needs skills and good communication in the grp)
+ If you find a mana mentalist to duo with, you will just level like... well, very fast ^^
+ You can solo in rvr cause now realm speed has be removed, enchanter's speed is an advantage

Animist pets are also limited due to server lag.

I would read this post on Custom stuff on Uthgard

For templates you can check out the Realm Forums, under each of the three realms there is a sticky at the top with user made templates. These can give you a good idea of what items you have available, but they are not the the end all, be all of the templates. Some people like to build their own and might share them with you if you ask around. Here's a link for the Hibernia: SC Templates

Spec wise you can just ask around in broad chat or when you join a guild/alliance ask them. Asking a level 50 about speccing might help the most. You get a free single line respec at 20 and 40, after that you need to raid for a respec stone or buy one from housing/with bounty points.

For Animist i think Creeping is the best spec to start with, I've been told that Creeping Spec lowers the power cost of your turrets so that you can cast more.

For Enchanter go mana for groups or solo(light is not efficient, and enchantments is all but broken). Find a mentalist if you can, and/or a druid or bard will work using small heals. Buffs do not work correctly on pets, and pets hit with melee for terrible damage. Pretty much what Fabulabelle stated above.

Good luck with your characters!
