Hey All,
Been having some frustrations with my Ranger recently. I am currently level 38 and the downtime is killing me. Any suggestions on where to level and how to speed up the process/reduce downtime? I am AT Bow at the moment, my gear is all SC'ed blue stuff. My end game Spec was going to be something like 48 PF, 35 Bow, 50 Composite Stealth, 25 Pierce rest CD. So far I've tried DF, Coruscating Mines? and a few other places. Seems like it is taking forever to level. |

Your starting your hell levels man =/ Are you guilded? Try to get a pook group or find tree to solo somewhere? I'm not on uthgard yet but I remember my ranger on classic....alot of downtime and mostly soloed trees in frontier. Stock up on tinders?

Tinders are a good idea, but can't e used in the Frontier. Try CM with tinders or find a bard needing a tank. I did my levels with a low level bard who couldn't get a grp and let them leech off me.

Spec bow and go at the grovewood at mount collory, with ranged attack they cant hit you cuz they got ranged attack too but less range than you, you can chain them without any downtime and without be hitted

I couldnt tell you exact farming spots at lvl 38 but I will say you should be leveling in DF, the frontier Dungeon, and the frontiers. In the frontiers focus on Hadrians Wall, Odins Gate, or Emain so you can get the 50% xp bonus. I recently leveled a hunter and once I hit level 20 I leveled strictly in the frontiers. Leveling FLEW by. When you have bow to use while leveling it makes it even easier since alot of mobs you can have almost dead before they even get to you.
Remember, its not always about cap xp. With the bonuses you get to xp out in the frontiers you really just want to find a spot where you can farm very easily. I would prefer a camp of low yellows to high blues in which I almost never stopped pulling over a camp of high yellow and oj's that I could get cap xp but only kill a few before having to rest. Also, if you havent invested your early points in RA's then get things like First Aid 1 to help you out. That is a 25% heal that you can use every 3 minutes. Yes, you will have to respec to Ignore Pain when you go into Thid, but with the 3 minute reuse timer on First Aid it will help you level much faster. If you have some gold laying around also buy some heal pots and health regen pots to help reduce your sitting time as well. As others have mentioned, use tinders if you are not in the frontiers. |
|
Well, make sure you get your AT on Bow!!
So don't spec bow if you don't have the money to buy respecs every 4 lvls. But I agree on Zacks post, First Aid and camp bonus will be your friend. Go to areas that are rarely used, you should hit cap with every yellow mob there! And get some crafted weapon with proc (if you don't have that already), helps a lot. |

A LOT of people underestimate these potions WAY to much for leveling. I CHUG health regen and haste pots, no matter what toon I'm leveling. If I am over level 10, I have inventories full of haste & Health Regen pots. At level 38 run your butt to Snowdonia(alb frontier land). There are level 32-40 mobs all over the Southern zone wall(Directly north, NW and NE of Snowonia Fortress. The xp will be good, mobs hit softy, and usually you can find a lot of enemy casters out there leveling. I love me some good old fashioned open world XPing that leads to open world PVP ![]() If you become irate, angry, wrathful, furious, ireful, wroth or indignent by anything that I say to you or just in general; you should always remember, it's only because I care that I pay attention in the first place.

didn't they change to exp-bonus for normal frontier-zones? I thought every zone (no matter if behind xmg or whatever) now gives 15%, while DF gives 25 and frontier dungeons 50%? i liked levelling in frontiers as well... most important about levelling: if you think a spot is bad...reconsider if it is really worth travelling or searching for a time before finding another spot....usually you gain more exp by just sticking to 1 spot which is "ok" then to always hunt for the best spots but with travel time inbetween...ofc sometimes cycling through several spots which are rather close together can be a good idea, but usually it's not ![]() Genuine Spirit Cabalist since 2002

From level 40, you will XP very nicely now! Like Ori said, go in Mount collory!
I went there with my ranger, you just go and roam in the land, killing blue, yellow or orange mobs! As there is nobody, you will get the maximum Camp Bonus, and killing blue will provide you the cap! Traveling is not a problem in this, because moving from one spot to another will not cost you time, as on your road, you will kill mobs also! I did this, and it was really fast. Then, you can go to the Frontier Dungeon, where you will also get nice mobs! No downtime guaranted! And I auto-trained Bow till 48, so don't worry about that. >>> Please click here and Save the Pandas! They need us! They need you! <<<

I know from just finishing leveling a hunter in the frontiers that the bonus is 50% just like the frontier dungeon in any of the 3 main RvR zones (Hadrians Wall, Odins Gate, Emain). I leveled my hunter in one of those 3 zones from level 40 to level 50. Now in the frontier zones below those 3 main I cant remember exactly what the xp bonus was, but it was enough to counteract a lost camp bonus or give a bit over cap if you were farming cap. |

changelog july 2,2012 -
- New +50% XP bonus in all Old Frontier RvR dungeons and mile gate zones (Emain Macha, Odins Gate, Hadrians Wall) - Bugfix: Fixed a bug in spell resist rate against targets lower than the caster |
