Hello, I haven't played DAoC in a long time. My brother and I decided to join hibs, and he is going to be a hero or champ, but more likely a hero.

I was going to play a healer, I was wondering which to go druid or bard.

I know bard has more toys but for sheer healing I was thinking druid. we are wanting to rvr end game, and was wondering since we will be duoing, if we can't find a group, which would be better.

Thanks for your time/help.

For a PvP-Duo i'd go with Bard:
more Utility (CC, DD for Rupt, Endu-Song and ofc: Speed) and with Battle-Spec a decent second Damage Dealer.

Aside from PvP the Endu-Song helps a bunch with leveling.

Strongest duo you could roll with classes that are fully viable in groups would be a bard/blademaster, probably followed by bard/eldritch. If he is dead set on champ or hero, then hero. Champ really isn't a popular choice in endgame RvR (unless you don't care about 'competitiveness' and are just happy to raid a few keeps, zerg, or look for the odd PUG fights).

Bard BM will be the best choice because at some point you dont wanna duo anymore ^^
Bard VW is as good as bard BM, better for fast kills.
Bard Eld is hard work, I wouldnt recomment it for 2vs2+ but we killed all duos with it, so it works (mana spec) ;)

I dont play duo RvR so by all means my opinion on this matter should not be the one used, but I actually like Bard/Champ. Champions, IMO, are the most powerful solo class in the game. I know this isn't about being solo, but rather a duo, however they still have TONS of utility. They have the castable snare for after a mez wears off, they have dd's for interupts, they have debuffs, they have their own S/C, they get slam, heavy dps.... The only thing they lack vs a hero is stoicism. Yes, they lack other RA's as well, but Champs also have RA's heros dont get like WoC which is HUGE dmg. I could see BM over Champ but only for Charge. I just think Champion is a better solo/small man toon then Hero/BM, but Hero/BM are much better 8 man toons. I also agree with whoever up above said VW/Bard. That would also be a good duo.

I would say bard over druid for sure. Druid is great, but you will want speed more than anything else. You use that to get from point A to point B and more importantly you use it to get away from much bigger groups that will try and chase you down and kill you. With a good bard this shouldnt be to big of a problem. On a druid any time those groups want to chase you down you will be dead for sure.

Champ should work even better than hero in 2vs2 but still the day you get rid of 2vs2 will come, and then you have a champ for grp RvR

For RPs Ranger is nice as well, but it's hard times till you get to purge3 mos5 for beeing viable in stealth gank and 2vs2 + the day you get rid of 2vs2 will come, and then you have a ranger for grp RvR 8O

He specifically said they would be interested in grouping, so why do people keep suggesting stuff like champs and rangers, I wonder. Again, Champ is an option for small men and duo and casual PUG/Keep raiding, but if you guys have any intention whatsoever to do competitive RvR, stay away from champ or valewalker.

Yes Bard BM is most competitive duo and 2 needed grp chars, go Bard BM and you ll be fine. You can even invite more ppl to your small men if there are bigger small men out.
