Hi all,

Im playing an animist as a farmchar, but having tremendous problems with it.

Even when in a duo if a bard or menta pulls single mobs, as soon as my shrooms attack the mob zooms in on me.

Am i doing something wrong?

Im full Arb, rest creep lvl 46.5 atm.

Try asking the Bard or Mentalist to use "Confuse" spells on the mobs. With numerous shrooms down, mobs should hopelessly entrap their selves with all the choices of "enemies" to attack.

Or try having the bard use Amnesia when they are within range. It should clear the focus of the mob, and force the next attacker to be it's target. So if he amnesias and a shroom damages it immediately after, the shroom should take aggro.

Not sure "what you're doing wrong", but try using these spells while standing a small distance from your shrooms - - - and no single monster should ever be able to reach you.

Well, that's just it...

The bard did indeed spam amnesia and confuse, but most of the time it didnt help that much...

Mainshroom is on aggro aswell.

It goes like this:

a) Bard pulls
b) mob in shroom range > shrooms start attacking
c) mob runs towards Animist instantly
d) Bard uses confusion, amnesia etc... mob might go to shroom for 1 second, then go back to animist


This just means the animist almost always gets hit at least a couple times per mob.

With a menta it was the same other than he has baseline stun so sometimes the mob would run to the shroom after being nuked by shrooms for the duration of the stun, but even then it was back and forth between Animist and shrooms.

Is this working as intended ? I always tought the shroom get aggro until it dies and then the mob goes for Animist.

Bard did not produce enough aggro. Remember that every shroom delegates a part of generated aggro to the Animist. You can try to stand at more distance, as distance to target counts in regard to aggro.

This is how it is supposed to work. Take a video next time so we can see the bug in action.

I don't know the exact mechanics so I'll use some made up numbers.

Each shroom pet, on dmg to mob, will generate agro. Lets pretend that its 5 pts agro to shroom, and 1pt to the caster. 2 shrooms will produce 5pts each and caster has 2 pts now. If you follow this to the logical conclusion, then 10 shrooms will have 5pts each, but the animist will have 10pts agro, thus is the main agro target of the mob.

Is this a bug, I have no idea. Just my own observed game mechanic. Also, do theurgs have a similar play mechanic?

You do get aggro. If you make it a group of three you can find a tank to use protect on you.

What you can also do is cap low level shrooms like 5's or 9's and then use ur debuff whisp spell to debuff body by 10%

Then the mob basically explodes. For solo purposes u use no real mana to cap 5's or 9's and you life tap to keep hits up and basically chain mobs.
