I'll be coming over to hibernia for the first time ever really, and I need some advice/opinions on which character to roll first. Here is my situation: I live on the west coast of the US, and my play times are usually from 11pm-3am pacific time, once the wife has gone to sleep  I want to make a character that will be in demand for pve so I can hopefully make enough money to gear up a nightshade later down the road.

With that in mind, I've been mainly looking at a BM, hero, maybe a druid (although I enjoy melee dps more than healing, but don't HATE healing). I'm not sure how much RvR will even be happening during my play time though. Fairly sure I won't be seeing many 8 man groups at that hour, which also makes me wonder about making a Valewalker. I'd love to play one, but without Det they are shunned in rvr, and they don't seem to be all that wanted for Dragon or Galladoria raids either...

So do I need to just focus on making a blademaster and forget about a VW? Any advice/opinions would be welcomed, thank you!

A support char, like a Druid or warden is the easiest to group at low levels. A farmer, like an animist or enchanter will be able to small man gold and xpd easier though, though a mana ment is almost always needed for hots and Pom for either.

A hero is preferable for pve raids since scale armor and large shield. However, a BM is also serviceable on pve, though not as a main tank given the reinforced armor, but can much more easily plug in to rvr pugs versus Heros. Offensive chars are always harder to equip though, given their need for high dps and defense.
