What do you guys prefer to spec on Patch 1.65 for grp pve?

If i remember correctly Arb was the "only" spec on Uthgard 1.0.
Is it worth going Verdant now?

Well if it was live like 2003 with the debuff towers... i think will be better Creeping Path/Verdant with 46/28, just spam shrooms and see the purples die :D.

full verdant, full creep is only good for the reduced mana cost on the turrets. i dont remember the debuff turrets being used much. all comes down to the implementation on uthgard.. to all is speculation.

Well i dont have videos... but back in 2002-2003 you could kill dragon or other epic mobs 'easly' with a group animist for example. And with TOA and FoP... well that was outstanding...

That was because that more pets you had hitting on the mob the less defense it had the mob or something like that, and so less resist you got, more dmg = win... dunno it was a bug or a feature.

Well maybe i am mixing things about the spec to go, was arboreal...

Sorry.

Yes, I remember those times. There are also several videos about animists soloing Cuuldurach and other epic encounters on youtube. The thing that caught my attention was the unusual spec, since even on uth 1.0 the go-to one was arboreal : p

Although an Animist will be probably my first Char to roll when Uthgard comes back, I hope Animists won't be that overpowered.
Something like that would just be ridiculously stupid.
Oh wait, it might be live-like...
No seriously, after all this time researching and probably a lot of building code from scratch, I hope Staff found a good balance between the classes and pve/pvp.

Just curious about the "high spec reduces power cost" thing, since I've heard and read about it on several occasions now.
What patch introduced that?
I know I've been testing this on Uthgard before they totally f*cked up basically all the casters with their power regen fix and high spec did not reduce power cost (and why would it anyway?).

But to finally answer the initial question:
I found Creeping+Verdant (and some odd points in Arboreal) a very handy spec. Especially in PvE.
You got absorb debuffs, dps debuff turrets, aoe root and the occasional tangler to throw at the mobs and absorb buffs and mhb turrets to boost your allies and a pet-aoe spell as a last resort for peeling mobs off of your teammates.

No other class can bring that much versatility and utility into a pve group methinks.

Too bad classic daoc and old RAs cripple casters to the point of almost non-playability...

I suppose lower regen rates and no tinder. So soloing might be harder for animist this time, maybe mana ment is a a must have, we ´ll see.
