Ok so I finally have some cash built up on my enchanter and I want to make my blademaster. Questions if someone could answer.

1) Best overall race? I like the idea of Lurikeen with piercers but I hear Firbolgs and Celts are generally better.

2) What starting stats do I do based on the starting race?

3) Should I focus on weapon/shield to start or will I have any tanking abiolity at all? I was thinking of switching to CD/Shield/weapon at 20. Should I just go CD/weapon to start or would the shield make leveling easier?

4) How do they compare to Merc and Zerker?

5) Best duoing character for pve? A friend is gonna be grouped with me a lot.

1) Elf/celt/Firbolgs ^^ sadly Lurikeen cant (be cute tho) . but best dps Firbolgs. For more rounded BMs imo celts.
2) str/dex/con... some will say get 15str at start. ( im little different O.o i like 10str 10dex 10quick ^^ )
3) if your good at weapon switching do the spilt spec as your lving will help you improve once you start RvRing ^^ if you want it lazy then mainly go CD fallowed by weapon.
4) Zerkers when in vendo mode Crit every time imo the highest dps out of the 3, BMs have Tri wield but dps not as high but they do get Slam while zerkers cant. Mercs lowest of the group but Dirty tricks can really mess up a tank for 30 secs.
5) Duo ^^ find a bard :+) if your budy Hates that then a warden would help as well but there will be alot of resting ^^

Take Piercing Weapons:

- All your primary targets wear either chain (Cleric, Shaman, Healer) and are therfore vulnerable to piercing damage or wear cloth and are therefore neutral to any melee damage type

- With the coming of SI in mind this will allow you to wield the Broodmother Fang which having 4.3 weapon speed is (if I remember correctly) the slowest lvl 51 / 100% main hand weapon for our targeted patch level

- As piercing weapon damage is based on 50% str / 50% dex a str-debuff's or str-con-debuff's impact on your damage will be halfed

For race I personally reommend Elf for best values of quickness and dexterity: This plus 2 or 3 levels of dogder and your advanced evade abilty will allow you to evade slams fairly often.

Additionally: If you follow my advice and chose Piercing Weapons then the difference in damage dealt compared to a Firbold wielding piercers is almost inexistent.

Blunt and enjoy the 10s stun combo style after parry

What is more: The 10 seconds stun is the second style of a style chain. You therefore must hit with two successive attacks which makes this stun slightly unreliable.

If the style actually hits and the opponent cannot purge or choses not to then its effect of course is devastating as this will allow you to unleash at least two complete side chains.

One should also not forget that the personal style must not be neglected: I personally could never play a Firbolg with Piercing Weapons because I find this picture rather unfitting. :)

Firbolg pierce is in my opinion the most efficient. Like somebody else said, your primary targets won't like you much. The differnece in dmg vs a higher dex race is almost nothing. Full CD/pierce to level. Final spec either 50cd 50pierce 23 shield if you want to just be pure damage with a nice behind stun (can be useful sometimes). More useful and my preferred spec with some nice utility is 42 shield 39pierce 50CD.

For xping you'll want to go blades or blunt because you only need to cap one stat for dmg instead of two
