I made a midget stalker and started in Ardee. I was naked and only had a starter dagger. Not one NPC would give me a quest. How can I make money on day 1? I'm a filthy casual. How hard will it be for me to play a full archer if I don't have any alts to grind for stuff?

Drop Loot / Tasks

Basically just start killing mobs and you can sell the loot they drop. Otherwise you can talk to the named guard in each town and say "Task" (if I remember correctly) which will give you a kill task. You will have to kill 1 mob in your area. You can do as many of these as the number of your lvl. Your reward will be coin and xp.

Sentinel Moya, nor any other NPC in Ardee, responds when I say task. Whispering doesn't help either. Right clicking on Sentinel Moya does bring up a window, but only a simple greeting is inside. There is no highlighted text to click on.

While having the guard targeted. Type: /whisper task

For Ardee, Sentinel Moya is the person to talk too.

*Edit* - Another thing to point out is if you die while you are on a task, you lose that task. Meaning you won't be able to complete it or take it again.

If you are starting a ranger from scratch you will be killing blue and green mobs for a loooong time, not just to get going

Do kill tasks if you're solo. There won't be an indicator or marker for the NPC that gives them, but it's always a named guard at a town. Do a quick google search with the town name your in to find out.

Then the higher lvl the mob the more loots/coins it drops. So just focus on leveling up asap and kill lvl 50 mobs.

Melee rangers are strong as hell. Self buffs, mate. You'll be killing yellows if you spec melee.
