Back in the day I never had a level 50 until right after SI and the Galla weapons were the "thing"


So without SI, Besides crafted, were there any level 50 16.2 or 16.5 dps weapons that were wanted for level 50 templates? Dragon weapons?

There is a very nice lh pierce with a buble proc in DF (high lord loot).

The "best" piercers at this patch level are 3.9 speed 16.5 dps crafted ones. We have no slow piercer options until SI is released (wait isn't this an SI server?) and we get Galladoria loot (there is a 4.3 piercer that drops in there). Better off with slash or crush tbh unless you enjoy hitting really fast like a wet noodle and going OOE faster.

The problem is our dex is alot higher than str so pierce weaposnskill damage is higher. The old RAs didnt have the high str stat bonus that let you get it up there like the newer RA stats did. You also have to factor in that HIB only ahs access to the +75 dex/qui charge so that will also make pierce much more stronger

I wouldnt mind having that proc going off occasionally as my offhand weapon. But no not a good mainhand weapon

Care to throw some #s at me? I am thinking of this from a BM perspective and firb, so I think the class/situation can vary not only one class is viable for piercers. From my perspective of BM pierce just doesn't seem the best route due to str+dex/2 vs strength in terms of weaponskill, compounded by the fact that crush and slash have 4.2 speed weapons while pierce has 3.9 as its slowest MH (OH really doesn't matter). Also, I don't really ever plan to solo on my BM, that will be a job for another more solo worthy class. Also if you are basing this purely off of getting high aug dex RA then that will come much much further down the road as MoP will likely always provide a higher net dps increase (even dualist reflexes as well).

All in all it sounds like we may be looking at this from 2 different perspectives, both having merit in their own regard.

Sorry, I was talking about this from a Night Shade or Ranger perspective. Dex being the primarly class stat and being much higher than str at max level.

Yes from a BM/Hero/Champ perspective slash or crush over pierce without question
