Will delete my mid chars and start hib, just wondered what would be the best start.
Played hib before, but been a while.

Thought bard would be a good choice, should be both easy to get groups but also task? Played bard before, in RvR as well.
One thing though that turns me off, is that I seem to remember on Uthgard it is not as easy to get your instruments, and that their qualities affect powerusage greatly?
And starting out as first char seems to me that I would have a hard time being usefull then?

Also thought about animist, much less "demanding" on equipment. Basically a focus staff not to far behind your lvl, and you're okay. But no speed is annoying.

Enchanter?

And instruments?
Twisting endo and speed is fun, but not if you lack drum or harp...

We are filled with enchanters and animists and that's no surprise because they make leveling so much easier. My advice would be to roll a support like druid or bard and just group your way to 50.

If this migration trend continues I might have to switch to Alb as they will be the new underdog!

There is definitely a large need of more bards in the realm. Being by far the smallest realm, that really isn't surprising but bard is definitely a great choice.

Druid - Bubbler
Hero - Cramit
Enchanter - Rounder
Bard - Melody
BladeMaster - Crunch
Mentalist - Dottie

Got my bard to lvl 7, was quite surprised to see lvl 30+ characters in the starter zone handing out damage shield buffs. So far people have been quite friendly :)
Had a good group that could have taken me to lvl 9+ with ease, but then servers crashed and I had to log anyway.

Think Midgard starter zones have more mobs or are less packed, at least Connla was very packed. 2 skeleton pawn spawns, and 10 people kiloing them whenever they popped :)

Connla isn't a great starter town. Go over the hill next to the town and you'll see more skeletons and mudmen to complete the killing tasks. Across the river, on the other side of beetle island, are more skeletons, mudmen, and rowdys. If you go across the river, don't go beyond that hill. The giant ants will eat you!

What is this horrible place??? Guessing underpopulation has given more room for the ants to multiply :)

When I hit higher level I will make sure to :hammer: them!

For anyone starting Hib, make sure you hit TNN and ask the crafters for some lowbie gear. I'm making endless free weapons for new players on Mordekai. If you see me on him in TNN hit me up!

So a bunch of us deleted 2 nights ago and now are in our teens on hib and I just want to caution one thing. The grind here is horrid. It has literally taken the Uthgard release buzz out of our sails and we are kinda regretting it now.

No one groups. I don't understand what is wrong with hibs, but the grouping experience has given me full blown aids. If I had solo deleted I would have already rolled back to mid or alb cus this is 0 fun.

Question to current hibs: Does this get better at higher lvls? I don't remember this being an issue 10+ years ago on small pop servers so why is this experience so terrible now? Is everyone just smallmaning to 50 with anis/chanters? If so, you are pretty much gifting mids the RR advantage for personal greed...

Note: higher lvls in TNN have been fantastic btw <3

Yes, most people are small-manning to 50 with Animists and Enchanters. There are tons of undesirables running around doing solo stuff and none of us use the LFG tool. My Nightshade was lucky enough to land in a group's sympathy spot for a few hours one day. Other than that, my XP comes from soloing in areas around other Nightshades and Rangers.

I'm loving the server, but due to all of the focus-pull shenanigans, the nostalgia is gone.

There are quite a few Nightshades, Rangers, and Blademasters running around not grouped. You can find physical DPS if you need it.

Repeat after me:
It will be better when I'm 50!
It will be better when I'm 50!
It will be better when I'm 50!
It will be better when I'm 50!

Well, I see lot of elitisme at 40+, it's lot of L2P to each other without be able to play good their own class.
For the spot it's most of the time same :
Fins, 3 spot ultra camped with always take by same guys with a list of replacement as long as my arm.
Gobos if you don't small it's not super exp.
Sheeroe you wipe lot of time because of this pet pull not always manage well. Aggro range is insane and mobs caster, can't run the mobs.
ZF is dominated by mid who has lot of advance in leveling/pve. Even alb already start get out with some lvl 50 group.
Then, if you are support/healer or enchant/menta/aoe/pbae you can do fine as long as you have a bit of time for play.
if you are tank, you need be sponsoring by your guild or do social/beg people.

I realized my comment look super frustrated, but what I want to say is don't expect life more easy higher level in here.

There are more and more zerg exp which is a good thing for people who has difficulty to find group. Once again nothing is perfect, a lot of people become afk once they are in bg.
