I just rerolled hib as well. My first go round in daoc was in hib, so this seems to fit better. Making a hero now as opposed to the real time period of 1.65 is a little tougher. A large portion of the population is set up for focus pulling only. You're going to have to hustle to get your own group together to level. I made a bard and had trouble finding a group, if that's any indication for you. I'm sure once these folks level up their trade skills and acquire wealth, they'll make their actual rvr toons. Things may turn around then. Until then, it's going to be tough for melee'ers in hib - and we'll never have DF to help out. Just my 2cp.

Join a guild, they should hopefully be willing to help you level.

Right now we (<Neartmhor>) are focused on the focus pulls, but we know everyone wants to get 50, and so we don't exclude any classes.

Actually I will most likely end up on bard. I love bard, but i hate twisting.

If grps run 2 bards in down for that.

Loved my Mordred bard :D

Peeps seem to like BM atm - but I reckon there is a place for Hero. Been in a few tank groups and really like them.

Surprised by the bard struggling to get a group comments - whoever does not want a bard may be regrettng that when it comes to RvR.

Bards really shouldn't have an issue finding a group but it does seem bards aren't being played as much as druids, so they may just feel they have enough support with 2 druids.

In terms of hero, there is always a need for BM or Hero in rvr and even in focus pull groups. Not every enchanter is great at picking up the mobs, so having tanks to peel and bring the mob to the pet or even just tank the mob next to the pet for bombs is always very helpful. Not to mention, every bomber in a focus pull group should have a tank guarding them with a shield to make the lives of the healers better.

So if anyone ever gives you any guff about inviting your melee to a focus pull group, you need to make sure they realize that they are losing efficiency by not having you. Melee is needed in all groups end of story, otherwise they're doing it wrong.
