Druid / Bard

You could prolly do,

Bard + Animist
Animist + Bard
--- OR
Bard+Ani
Ani+Druid
A bit more flexible in grouping.

-

So you both have Animist to farm with or Duo with, and Duo bards, that are really sought after in RvR.

Mentalist option is good too, but Bard is better tbh, for RvR reasons and the gold comes from Animist farming.

----

Also if you are a bit more Mature players (our guild is Animist guild with people that are not so young anymore), we can talk ingame and check if you can join us in our guild.

Bloodlance ingame or you can pm me in forums also.

Sideinfo : TS is optional, until you ding 50 and join us in RvR and higher tier farming. Or if you want to be totally just chill and casual/social player, TS is not mandatory.

Welcome Back to hib (or soon anyway)!

My suggestion would be a bard + a bm (or hero). That way you can set up xp groups around your duo and level quite fast! Also both toons are good for gear farming and rvr!

druid's are always needed...

too many bards as it is..i play one...you'll spend alot of time watching your buddy wack stuff... Seriously you can't spit without hitting two-three bards...

enchanter/druid would be a good combo

enchanter/eld

enchanter/mana ment

Hero/BM (melee is very much needed atm in hib)

Animist, i guess, but why roll an animist when you can roll a chanter? You can focus pull almost anything, you get chanter speed. You can farm 3-6 yellows 2-4 oranges... at a time with a chanter.

So basically, don't make a warden (alot of them running around) Don't make a bard (alot of them running around, unless you want to rvr and win mez and your into all of that). Don't make an animist unless that seems like fun to you! (pet nerf exp and it will take much much longer to get to 50)

NS and rangers could be fun for you, they struggle to get groups but your playing with eachohter...

Anyways, you can't really go wrong, just observations as someone who makes groups to exp/level atm, I'm 44.

Someone said Excalibur and the Fiannans all pop in the same thread. Anyone would think we're collecting old EU players or something.

I haven't seen many low level bards around recently so you would probably find yourselves perma grouped to 50, being one of the so called millions of 50 bards now around, I still don't find myself struggling to make groups for RvR and welcome a 2nd one in group to help with demezzing.

As for the secondary character, a tank is quite fun to level with a good bard, you an always find dps around to fill and it's still possible to kill group bonus mobs in duo with that sweet mez.

Quite a few of us are levelling their first characters still or rolling Alts to group together with so look us up if you are stuck.

I would suggest to not plan the classes on duoing in mind.

thanks for the great response guys and your kind offer bloodlance managed to sway someone else to come with us so we are definately going to have a druid and a bard.

i was looking at making a hero but i heard druid/bard/chanter was a pretty good trio im guessing we will be doing ani's when not together etc just to get money together etc.

basically im the one who aint made his mind up yet i want a RvR char thats for certain and i know eld and hero are both viable classes. but by looks melee is needed more in hib

Druid + bard will make you very dependent while lvling (cant duo anything rly) on one side but you will have the core for fg lvling set quite easiky if you find an ench or melees

I recommend bard + bm although bm wont help much if you want to lvl fast in petpull grps

Welcome anyway, independent of your decision

thxs uzkrak it looks like there will be 3 of so prob gonnna go the druid/bard/chanter route seems like hte best grp to start with. hopefully we can entice a menta to join us for mana regen but i think this trio covers most bases heals buffs mez regen quite good dmg etc advice is always welcome tho its along time since a played hib

10 /whos over the last week at all different times of day..

Enchanter 898
Druid 895
Mentalist 800
Bard 686
Hero 589
Animist 477
Eldritch 471
Blade Master 445
Nightshade 389
Warden 362
Ranger 324
Vale Walker 236
Champion 117

So my answer to your question would be definitely not enchanter! We could use more bards and wardens.

From the linked post, I would add I keep a close eye on this, and these numbers remain largely consistent through about 5 more polls. Took the numbers from USA primetime, Eu primetime and various off hour times.

Just don't make a non-determination melee if your intent is to rvr, so avoid champs and valewalkers.

While the bard is nice for it's speed, a Mana Ment is really the way to go with a druid and chanter trioing (if duoing a bard and chanter are fine). The Ment brings an "aggro free" HOT to the table (you can actually use it out of group and not steal XP if you want to help PL lowb chanter when they FP), which allows you to run around pulling quite a few mobs before needing to actually cast a heal using the druid, which will start drawing aggro if done too early. The Ment has two single dots and an AE dot later on, along with mana regen at much earlier levels (4, 14, 24...) than a bard (8 or 10 is first I think).

Food for thought as well.
