Why do all heros go LW instead of Spear ?

I did go over the hero forums but there was no definitive answer. spear growth rates seem fine to me ? I suppose the issue is that they are side styles ?

While I see the numbers, assuming 50 spec with no RA's and with neutral resists, is there really such a big difference in 50 LW vs. 50 CS dmg. output? Just curious btw.

You WILL need to use the level 6 behind snare from spear. And LW is the best choice out of the 2. But if you don't care to min max then why not just play a valewalker?
