So I'm returning and going to settle in Hib.

I solo almost exclusively. But while quiet I'm not totally anti-social so I'll play in groups but winter actively lfg for them.

I don't really care about leveling speed because I'm also ultra casual in my play time.

I do however need some kind of class that isn't actively snooze fest. Something to keep me actively engaged. Previously I played a cabi and it was a little too meh for me.
Thank!

I mean this kindly, but with the complete lack of an effective realm communication tool (and considering the fact that I've spent hours soloing during prime time on "needed" classes, since there's no bonus for filling a group on Uthgard...)i.e., LFG, outside of just typing you're lfg and /whisper the 30 people in your level range...one at a time...

....well, you might want to consider something that you can effectively, albeit slow as molasses (as with most solo classes), solo with.

Suggestions are never going to be melee, due to need for armor and weapons. Hence:

Enchanter (pet is poop until 20...but it's doable).

Perhaps a support class that you can offer, starting at 5, to group with people desperate for such since they cannot at all solo:

Bard
Druid

Another option is warden, but again, no armor or weapons so you really have to grind greens and try to work your armor/weapon up for a long, long...painfully long, while.

I would recommend you mana specced mentalist. Caster type, easy to play, you can solo , you can duo with chanter/tank, you will be welcommed in groups due HoT and PoM.

Valewalker would probably be pretty decent. Cloth is relatively cheap, and they hit like a truck.

Not recommended if looking to get into any sort or serious RvR though as they are seldom sought after.
My mind’s made up, don’t confuse me with facts.
You mustn't assume that your personal situation is a reflection of every other person that has logged in to Uthgard.

Eh I think I didn't speak right..

I'm just looking for any class that requires some attention to succeed with. I don't want a "spam one power" or let the pet do the work type class.

Sounds like VW, with DD, instants, reactive+posi Styles.

Or maybe a Mana Eld if you want to have a lot of utility / things to do in RvR.

I also recommend a valewalker to fit your play style. I'm pretty casual myself and enjoy my valewalker as my solo exclusive character when my druid can't find a group. Makes for a great farmer later in the game, is cheap to gear minus your weapon, isn't played very much so you'll feel pretty unique and is extremely fun and active to play properly. Like others mentioned, you can almost forget any 8man rvr group outside of groups made around that kind of comp which I don't believe is common if ever used on this server. However Vw's make great small man rvr characters, so if you find a bard and a couple other friends along the way, you can still do well if you know where to look for a fight.

You enjoy being solo 98% of the time and nearly guaranteed at 50> Then yes, Valewalker.

It's a great class. But this game is built for people who always look to what fits the "cookie-cutter" group makeup. Just saying. Good luck with that.

I still don't understand why we don't have a LFG channel......

There are quite a few questions to be answered before you can get real advice.

1. What is a snooze fest for you? Apparently you don't want a pet class like the caba, a bard or healing toon would be quite repetetive. So melee?

2. What is your goal at 50? Do you want to be able to group at 50? Or would you still want to solo mostly? Does it have to have grouping options even if you mostly solo?

The first idea would be a valewalker or a ranger. Since they are nice to solo with and can do so decently at 50 as well. However, they aren't very easy to get groups with at 50. So if you want to group rvr at 50, a bm or hero would be a better fit!

Valewalker and Reaver are the most fun classes in the game. One of these is on Hib.

I would also suggest the Valewalker class.

They are fun. Great for solo. Focus on parry/evade reactionaries as well as mandatory self buffs so you need to be aware of what's going on.

Go Valewalker. Just do it.
