Retail Crafting, Developers please read!

Hi all,
I would like to put fourth the suggestion that you make crafting like it is on retail.. Basically since patch 1.9 or something, you can become GM in all crafts on 1 char, they removed the secondary crippling and i think it would serve this community and this server to adopt the same policy. The question i pose, is what good does it do to make us make different chars for trade skills, all this does is make uneccessary chars which take up space, albeit very little. Now I get that you guys want to keep it Classic, but with a server population as small as this, and the fact that you pretty much have to craft to keep on par, i posit to you that it is unfair that a character can not be self sufficient. Please consider this concept, as i am sure most on the server will agree that this would not imbalance the community in any way, and in the grand scheme take up less room and free up bandwidth for the server as a whole. |

It will.
Post 1.80 is not a point for discussion. Will never come. =) |

Can you explain how being self sufficient would unbalance the game.. either way people will have the best crafted items whether it requires them to create several accounts or not...
How does forcing you to make difffernt chars create a balance? Well whatever, guess i'm off to make a mule char for no apparent reason.. go logic. |

even if they inplement this, GM is still not enough to get the best possible equipment for you char . you would still need to make another char for LGM.

Its not intended that every player gets his personal universal crafter char. Ask your realm or guild mates if you need something crafted. There are plenty legendaries out there who will be willing to help. Theres no real need to change this.
It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Right, but the thing is, if someone wants to have a lgm in every trade skill, he will...
And there are 2 possibilities, either you could make it all on one char or you can spread them out with different chars.. this is the point i'm tyring to make, just because it's not intended doesn't mean anyone who wants to won't just do it anyways... and it's not against the rules to create multiple chars... i just fail to see what disallowing it accomplishes.... yet i CAN see why disallowing it can create more bandwidth/storage usage as well as tempting otherwise honest people to dual log just to pass items between chars... Are we really naive enough to assume that this limitation in any way prevents people from getting LGM in every craft skill? On a side note i have asked around, i've checked the auction house.. none of the stuff i need is available and or people don't want to take the time to relog their crafters to make me stuff.. So then what's the answer, join another guild, except most of the players are not albion, and all the guilds on the server are beyond small.. So i guess whoever has the most numbers wins.. seems fair enough.. or, does it in fact throw rvr balance WAY off.. i think it does. It makes me want to just join Midgard like all the other players have so i can actually get the items i need without having to find creative ways to swap items between chars.. Bandwidth is not a problem there. We have 500kb/sec upload when RvR is active. Crafters cause like 1kb every minute?
The crafting is classic and remains classic. It's done when it's done. Thanks for your patience.

Im with Blue here. Being able to craft anything on one toon, flattening the recipes.. and most of all, I HATE the map, would be dumbing down the game.
Things being somewhat difficult is the reason I like Uthgard. There are games for those who want everything easy, Uth DAoC isnt one of them. |

i don't want everything easy, i just am sick of wearing green vendor junk... i still have yet to find anyone to make my gear..
and even if i do find someone it's not like they're going to spend the time necessary to make masterpieces... i guess it's just meant to be that the realm with the most players should have all the best items perpetuating their reign, while the realms with far less players are left to their crap green vendor junk further weakening them... Sure at level 50 it probably won't be too bad because how often do you upgrade your gear, but it sure makes leveling a chore. I'll just make a bunch of chars and get all the crafts, in the grand scheme the limiting won't stop me from being self sufficient, it just seems unecissarily tedious to have to make so many chars. Besides, how "Easy" is it to LGM all the crafts... you'd still have a majority of people not willing to go that far. Either way the "gods" have spoken and are unwilling to listen to reason... you might as well delete this thread, because the only people that are going to share their input now are going to be too busy kissing butt to share their true opinion. |

You had a point there with valid reasoning, I had mine and I think my reasoning was also just as valid. I wouldn't call it ass kissing if I agree with a dev. You don't want easymode, yet you still want to level your character in MP suit, kinda contradicting yourself.
To the point, I have two lgm crafters and one leg and I don't have any problems crafting stuff for my guildies, that's why I made the crafters. What comes to MP stuff, true, I don't make MPs without a very good reason. A good reason might be a lvl50 assasin class who needs MPs to be viable, but no, I don't make MPs for lower characters, just not worth the effort. |
