Hi, I just joined the server. I am looking for a guild to take me in and show me the ropes. I am starting with a Shaman. I plan on going with a final spec of 33 Mending and 42 Augmentation. I would like to do alot of RvR, but I also enjoy PvE as well. My favorite class type are support classes so that is why I went with the Shaman.

Hi,
not sure this is relevant to you, but when I considered rolling mid, numerous people ingame actually told me that I will have a hard time finding groups in RvR with a shaman, just because there are already so many of them. So dunno, maybe another class would be a better choice (could be totally wrong tho, who knows).

Also, I don't think 33 mend is a very popular group spec, given that much of the shamans role is interrupt, for which you should have at least 27 cave (instant pbae disease, I believe).

hmm, ok. Well I decided on that spec because I want to be able to heal and buff, I guess I will go to hib/alb and roll a druid/cleric.

There are many shamans, it's true, but:
- There are no much good shamans;
- A lot of people get quickly bored playing it, so they won't play it for long;
- Any Mid group needs a shaman, so saying this class is hard to group is not right.

There, you have a point. I remember this pearl from an other forum:

Shaman: "We want to benefit from Acuity."

Mythic: "You're a hybrid caster"

Shaman: "So give us 1.5 spec/lvl?"

Mythic: "No, you're a Primary Healer"

Shaman: "So give us a decent Mend line?"

Mythic: "No, you're a hybrid caster"

Shaman: "So give us Hybrid RA's?"

Mythic: "You get Healer RA's."

Shaman: "So where's our Healer RA's?"

Healers have augmentation line too. ;)

there are often enough days when you dont find a shaman for a rvr group so i think going with shammie for first character isnt a bad choice...

I guess when I said people won't play shaman for long, I was underneath the thruth: some stop even before they started... :P
