In Midgard left & right hand always slam together.

There was a missrate modification? I remember, that they modified the LA dmg.

Zerkers ... weak dmg ... hehe

Since the multi-hit "fix" they dont do such way more dmg anymore.

Cant remember doing a quad on any enemy.

Afaik, the chance to land multi-hits is as follows:
  • 60% single
  • 20% double
  • 15% triple
  • 5% quadruple

Don't forget that each of those "hits" can still miss or be defended...

No, this is incorrect i think. Quad hit chance is more like 2% instead of 5.

Regarding left axe in mid. Originally left axe was applying the LA modifier (which reduces dmg, since both hands fire every round) to both style dmg and base dmg, where as it was only supposed to be applied to base dmg. To fix this, LA was given HUGE growth rates on its styles. At some point, a dev at mythic found the problem with LA (the modification of style dmg) and fixed it WITHOUT correcting the growth rates on the LA styles which were REALLY HIGH becauase previously LA was not working correctly. In 1.62, those growth rates were brought back into line, and LA was finally working properly.

Because zerkers and SBs to a degree were no longer doing way more dmg than they were supposed to, a number of players saw this as a nerf to the class. The truth is, it was a fix, and zerkers still do great dmg. In fact a zerker in vendo mode with a 2H out and celerity up is still the highest DPS tank in the game.

umh i see. so left axe dmg was "too high" as it should have been.
you say a zerker with a 2h is highest dps in game? (melee)
what about a left and right handed zerker? cuz they are more stylish ;)

No, it was higher than it should have been. They gave them growth rates on anytime chains that were upwards of 2.0 (savage anytime style is .89 which is HIGH for an anytime, most are .6), because the LA modifier was reducing their style dmg, so in order to make up for that they needed REALLY HIGH (too high for a working LA) growth rates. Then a dev came along and fixed the problem with LA, so that it was both working as intended, AND they had the growth rates on their styles that were twice what they needed to be. Now they just have GOOD styles, that fit with their working LA mechanics.

A Left Axe using berserker will do more dmg than a 2H when celerity is not up, the only time 2H out DPSes is when you can get the swing speed of the 5.X weapons down to that of the 1H weapons because of all the haste. If there were not melee swing speed caps (1.5 seconds), LA would always do more dmg, but there is, so that means 2H can make better use of celerity.

Hope that helped.

The LA growth rates are way better than hammer styles etc, so LA is still going to do more damage celerity or not, and you normally will have yellow celerity anyways.

Both zerkers and savages have their uses here, I prefer zerkers myself as they are more consistent and don't soak up their HP over time - which means savages are easier to spike down and require more attention from the healers who are busy with other tasks.

Even with the higher growth rates, when celerity is up, 2H dmg will exceed that of LA. This is basically because style dmg works as a function of time (such that hitting faster still does equal style dmg over time), where as base dmg is based on your spec, weapon speed and dps. So that means the huge base dmg bonus which 2H recieves allows it to overcome the damage of left axe when celerity is up.

I can post the equations to prove this but it's quite a bit of work so please just take my word (or find the equations online and do the math yourself) :)
