Would Thane be the best peel tank available in mid?

I enjoy hanging back with the healers/casters and slam/snaring for them. I figured with the Thane I would be able to slam and conquer for support and cast some DDs when the support is clear, maybe a bit of interrupting.

Would the Warrior be better for this, or another viking? Im not too familiar with mid, played mainly hib on live.

Thanks

Thane can be good peel tank sure, but it does lack stoicism unfortunately.
There are bonuses such as ranged rupts and ST etc..

It really depends on the player more than the class between warrior/thane, but many mid players see thanes as mezzbreakers and little else. So will have to put up with that stigma :(

Well depends on what you want. If you want to be on defjob 100% you should consider a warrior because of stoicism. However if you want to be a bit of both (rupt/casting) and able to def your support, thane is indeed a nice choice. But as said, they lack the 25% CC reduction Warriors get.

Hmmm, thanks for the replys. Lvling both up at the moment, guess I will have to try both. Thing I like about most about the Thane is ranged interupt/some dps while being able to stay back.

In my view Thane is better for the join, but thane requires more skills as it have more utility.

I'd say warrior for the det5/stoicism and higher block rate.

I'm playing a thane in groups. I don't miss stoicism or determination in fights. I got purge 3 and in nearly all fights it's enough to stay uncced the whole fight long. :D

imagine being a thane-peeler, frostalf, hammer spec, rr8+
having st2, that actually resets stun timer, purge3,
some damage ra's. you'd totally own.

I honestly don't even notice ST ticks with det, I thought ST wasn't supposed to be effected by det...

Dual Threat + some mop rocks on a thane. Really often critical hits and casts and instants.

IMO a well played thane would be better than a warrior. Guard/ST/Conquer
Ranged nukes when you are rooted
AOE pet clearing with hammers
Team Awesome/Cobra Kai

Forge (World of Tanks NA server)

Warriors guards is better though, ST doesn't seem to work correctly, and when you are rooted you can't slam/guard people that aren't stacked on you and a warrior is not going to stay rooted with det5, and both can get conquer.

Guess it's all personal preference but the warrior also gets a way better RR5 and more hp.
