I'm coming back to daoc after a couple of years away, and want to play Midgard, but cant decide which class to play. So far have narrowed it down to either SM or Shaman - anyone able to persuade me either way?

I pressure you to play HEALER or well if u want to decide ether SM or Shaman, then roll a shammy deffenetly.

And i suggest you to look for a guild or friendly people to help you blend in ^^

Welcome back to daoc

If you are intent on playing Mid than I would say Shaman is a better character. They are needed needed in every group possible, both RvR and PvE.
Which means that you will mostly be grouping/duo whilst lvling which is usually more fun than being solo.

Spiritmasters aren't wanted too much in RvR groups, so if you do level one to 50 you may find that you will not find as much group RvR action as you may like.

If however you aren't 100% going to roll on Midgard, i would agree with Brooms and roll Hibernia

They are lacking slightly in players at the moment, so the more the merrier!
