i wonted to creat an bm but my freind he plays bard told me bm dmg is gimped, they hope to get a love patch, is this true?

Thats not true. BM makes good damage. Zerkers make more because they have the troll race and 40 str more than most celt bms!

Yes, but a RR5 BM/Merc gets a 70% dual swing time which is ok! On the other hand Zerkers have to deal with the LA malus. With old ras and dualist reflexes 4 you can reach 81% with rr5

Yes, but when using a left axe your basedamage from main and offhand is reduced (increasing with LA spec).

You can also choose firbolg who has only 10 points less str than troll.

Yes bm dmg is not that awesome if you compare with zerk/merc but its best if you compare to other hib tanks.

Most Bms play Celt. Even highlander has 20 str more and that is much! And Merc has the best growth rate styles.

Unbuffed BM did hit my pd4 ranger for 179 mainhand with a slash weapon. If that sucks I dont know how much damage BMs should do.

Highlander has 10 more str than celt. BMs will generally do a little bit less than mercs or zerkers but have a little more utility. If youre firbolg and slash/blunt you will do good dmg. And when you hit triple wield you should out dps mercs while it's up. I like the split spec BMs (50 cd, composite 50 blade and pierce) so you always get a bonus, but just blades would work well too.

Tank to tank a BM with TW will actually out DPS a zerker with vendo up, you just gotta get him to attack you which isn't easy.
