This is basically because style dmg works as a function of time (such that hitting faster still does equal style dmg over time), where as base dmg is based on your spec, weapon speed and dps. So that means the huge base dmg bonus which 2H recieves allows it to overcome the damage of left axe when celerity is up.

I can post the equations to prove this but it's quite a bit of work so please just take my word (or find the equations online and do the math yourself) :)

Assuming that with cele I'm gonna use always a 2h weapon, if I want to get as close as possible to 1.5 swingspeed, I'll have to use the fastest lvl 51 lefty axe (2.9 speed), as a zerl troll with 10 qui points @ char creation.

I'm using this calculator:

http://www.daocmaps.com/weapon-speed-calculator

and it should be like that (actually to get closer to 1.5 mainhand shouldn't be 4.1 speed if u are a troll, but I've already bought a MP..)

Hope it's right and helps as well (no many zerkers knows that with cele up 2h OVERTIME damage of conqueror is > than snowsquall)

Now one last thing, I'm not gonna do the math for it:

what's better OVERTIME damage between, with yellow celerity, between:

4.1 mainhand + 4.0 offhand, snowsquall style

and

5.4 2h, conquer style?

Is it still 2h dmge > 2slow weaponz dmge?

Hope is not too tricky, we aren't even considering dd/lifedrain proc chances in this calc ;)

If you were attacking a target that had no capacity to block your attacks, the 2H should do more damage when you have celerity up, though you'll be almost 1 second from cap, so not as good as if you had red celerity, but should still be better.

However, on uthgard, shield will destroy your 2H damage, so unfortunately that means even against classes like clerics which normally you'd never see block your 2H, they will be blocking your 2H almost half the time. This is being sorted out though, I think, so maybe soon 2H will be usable once more.

Ok, 4.1 main and 4.0 offhand and that's it, still hitting swingcap speed with cele and zerktroll.

But hey, give a Troll with +18 starter stats in strength and 4.2 speed mainhand a chance :D

You will notice some difference. Trust me.
