What RA's should a skald get at RR4L2 and then later on.

You need to keep adaptive with ur realm rank.

Never ever lose SoS1 and at least Purge 1 (for grp skalds is sufficent). I would try hold AoG 2, so you will have ur place in raid grps as well. If you have to decide between purge 3 or AoG3, go purge 3.

4L2 may look like SoS1, Purge 1, AoG2, IP1 or AM1, LW1, MoP1 (this is mainly grp setup). Sticking with purge 3 at that low lvl is asked too much, since skalds will be asked for other useful abilities (at least SoS1, one of the strongest whilst cheapest abilities in game RvR wise).

Dont bother with AmoMelo too much as long as you are not a RR-superstar and not planning to be fulltime group skald. Although this ability is quite handy on a grped skald, you will lose too much points in the long shot and just AM1 is too weak.

Purge 2 is bs if you ask me.You give away 10 points for Instant Purge, when in most cases the 5 Second delay won´t make much of a difference.So either go Purge3 or leave it at 1, if your good with timing you can lower the delay to something like 2 seconds anyways.

agree

for now id go for Purge 1, SoS 1, AotG 2, LW 1, rest maybe IP 1 and MoP 1

LW because you mostly end up beeing a rupter and therefore you sprint alot during a fight.

What IP and mopain for a skald that is considered a rupter and needs to be active in 8 vs 8 ppl fight ?
Mopain for his ubah dmg 39+ weap hibrid dmg 2h ? lol mopain1 and ip1 !thats waste of points , purge3 is a must like det is a must for dettanks, sos 1 is good to have also for varius cases, and then aotg to boost grp dmg if its melee based .

4L3: LW2, Purge 1, Ameliorating Melodies 1, SoS 1, Aotg 2
5L1: LW1, Purge 1, Ameliorating Melodies 2, SoS 1, Aotg 2
6L6: LW1, Purge 1, Ameliorating Melodies 2, SoS 1, Aotg 3
9L1: LW1, Purge 3, Ameliorating Melodies 2, SoS 1, Aotg 3
10L6: LW1, Purge 3, Ameliorating Melodies 3, SoS 1, Aotg 3

Glacius, play a skald and then tell us again, what you will need and what others really expect you have...

A lowbie team skald dont need and cant spent so much point into purge 3, as long as you have to keep up sos 1 and at least aog2. Just having a 5 minute timer on a lowie skald is pure luxury at this state of play. The 5 sec delay is rather irrelevant on this melee class in grp.

After all, those are different specs for each realm rank, Its perfectly clear, you wont keep IP/MoP forever...

when you have the RR, SoS2 gives your aug healer 30 seconds of CC immunity, and amazing kiting ability as long as they just heal/demezz/cure disease the first 30 seconds of the fight. If a tank over extends early, the healer can speed in, heal, speed out etc its really nice and no one here ever seems to consider it. Obviously can't get it early on, but at higher RR SoS2 is great.

AOG3 does amazing damage in tank groups, very rarely have I quaded with aog3 up on my savage but when it happens its insane.

I have to agree that SoS2 is pure Heaven!
Playing with Rotbart before he went all group-ra's and after is like night and day. It opens up so many more tactics that SoS1 simply won't cut it for.

As for a skald, in a group especially, and if you play as an interrupter. You would want:
Purge3
SoS1-2 (depending on group and playstyle)
AM2 (really depends on group)
AotG2-3 (only 3 if you have no AM or SoS2, but AotG3 really isn't worth it)
lw1-2 (!!!!!)
AoM3-4 (if you play to interrupt, you will get nuked)

Basically the base is: Purge3, SoS1, lw1-2, AotG2
After that it depends a bit on the group you play with etc.

Purge 3 is really nice but would you invite a Skald into your rvr or raid group
just because he can purge every 5 minutes but has no sos and often dont even have enough endu to even land a backsnare ?
like Liss said LW2 is cool
i'd go for that rather then purge 3 at this rr
