I'm aware of some complaints by players of classes who use specialized 2-handed weapon spec lines that the damage is not calculated properly for those spec lines. Does midgard have this same problem since their weapon spec lines function as both 1-handed and 2-handed?

no one making that claim has been able to demonstrate it by comparing live damage to that of uthgard with equal weapons, specs and stats.

Actually, yes they have. 2h damage is fine on midgard, it was the purely 2h specs (2h, polearm, lw, cs) which do really poor damage.

Why would I do that when sword spec is superior in every way.

its been my experience that 2h specced armsmen are doing pretty well. i looked at the damage logs after a fight with a low rr armsman and he got off 2 484 damage hits with a thrust weapon against my 10% absorb armor, 610 AF, and 26 thrust resist. i know i never hit like that with a 2h in mid on any char or style ^^

and i personally do agree that sword is superior on hunter. ive played my brother's spear hunter and the damage output is painfully bad.

484 damage every 5 seconds ? ^^

My norse warrior can hit harder than that with both dq buff and haste.

I like to point out my experience with my warrior. It´s sometimes really strange how big the variance is. Yesterday my dmg range with 2hand was around 180 to 450, which I think its quite big with 50 Hammer + 17 and 5.8 speed. I might be wrong but vs players the dmg variance shouldnt be that high.

Midgard players don´t just simply play Daoc - we play Daoc to riun the game for Alb and Hib

RvR is what happens while you are here complaining

speculation about this seems pointless, a proper test is what matters.

Seriously, Midgard damage seems to be ok. Buffed Armsman (Briton) makes max 190 to me (rr10). Here rr10 Ranger vs rr4 Hunter (no backstyle):
