Block cap is something like 75-80%, but how much moblock or dex or shield spec you need nobody knows because uthgard's block formula is a mystery. Regardless of reaching cap or not, I think moblock 4 is a waste of points. 3 is as high as you should go.

Judging by your current plan it looks like you're up for soloing mostly. For that your current plan is perfectly fine. If you want to group however, det5 and purge1 are the first things you should go for.

det 5 on a non stoicism class just deters me, period. you're spending 34 points on something that'll only reduce cc to 20 seconds, at best..mez can be cured, stun isnt really a bother...root should be the only thing that defeats a paladin, and as he's pretty much a block/peel bot for support/casters not many enemies will push for a root..or thats how i see it

Whatever your inexperienced opinion is, det5 is a must have on any tank, period. You cannot count that your group's demezzer will always be free and able to demezz you. Even a stun can kill you if you don't have determination. Also if you wanna stand rooted and mezzed for 50 seconds each. A paladin is not just a fricken guard bot.

This is how you play a paladin.

and another thing, whats the ideal weapon speed? i plan on using a 3.1 atm, seems like it'd still cap or be very close with haste..but i noticed he uses a small shield in rvr, is that the better way to go even on a pala?

He is me. I'm using a 2.4 weapon for snaring, 3.9 one for when I wanna do more damage (it's not much but I still outdamage a rr10 dwarf warrior). Small shield for faster slam, bigger one doesn't have any benefit unless you're the one getting hit and if you are you can simply switch shields.
