Save mcl for combat, why waste it on buffing when your power will regenerate while you roam or rest anyway.

-don´t want to start roaming with one caster at like 60% power
-it has a low timer so when you get inc it´s either up again or you would have to use it before the fight if you didn´t use it straight away

Serenity > MCL

If you can afford Serenity 4 with a higher RR u will never be oom in combination with yellow pom and pots. you also should get some aug acuty which is more dmg and a little more mana too.
Pd is a must have , cause bd mostly gets a tank slot , in a tank grp for rupt or because of the absorb for chain wearers, cause there arent much caster grps in mid , and the few you see motsly loose their fights. So you will be the only caster in a tank grp , guess who will be first target^^ , and there are alb grps with ogre pole arms , 2 ogre mercs out that run in 3 man at, without higher pd your dead in seconds.
