I read the rules that says no botting and I actually love that but is it actually enforced? I don't like to follow rules that is not being follow by everyone else, I would rather not play at all. But .... I was thinking about coming here from live and was just curious with it being a freeshard and all is botting kept in check, radar use etc etc?
The big thing is botters because if I cannot bot then I want to make sure the entire server is hampered in such a way as well. and no I am not asking this to see if I can get away with it lol I just have a dislike for freeshards because most have staff that simply do not enforce what they say is forbidden. |

check the size of the ban section - all rules get enforced
strictly! I two-shot Zerkers

I did
I like the idea of no botting, that is music to my ears. I didn't see any bans for radar though although I just skimmed through some, radar bad here? PS: oh and ello midgard |

radar doesn't seem to be used too much (if at all)
there are sometimes when you get funny inc at unexpected spots.. but it happens so infrequently that i doubt its radar. I two-shot Zerkers

I honestly don't think radar would be an advantage anymore.
I have noticed that you can only target someone here that is within clip range. On live I recall being able to keep target outside of clipping range, and even target someone using 'last attacker' before they came within clipping range. I also remember Sanya saying that players were loaded outside of clipping range to reduce inc lag. Here it seems everyone gets loaded when they enter clipping range. Sanya said the reason radar worked (after the stopped the packet sniffing) was that it was showing you on the overlay map those players who were loaded outside of clip range. Here I think it would only show people already in clip range. Making its only real benefit that you wouldn't need to pan I guess. As far as bots go, the only way you could get away with botting is if you had two totally separate IPs, or a significant other or someone else ALWAYS nearby to play your bot if needed. This would ONLY work in PvE, so the advantage you got, and risked a ban over, would be minimal and only pve related anyway. |

I like the sound of that. It wont let me create a DAoC folder for uthgard unless I uninstall live /sigh which I will do. I'll be mid for sure
thanks for the info, I might actually enjoy it here |

This is very true and often radar just get shown as: "Third party program/hacking" so people do get banned for all of those things.. and remember there is a difference between botting and dual logging you might find a lower lvl player with a lvl 50 player stuck on his ass but you can be sure that it is 2 different persons playing as dual logging gets punished.. hard |
|
As long as you approach Uthgard with the idea that chances of enjoying it are little to none, you might actually manage to have unexpected fun here and there. Good luck and welcome! Edit:PS: Always good to see more determined Mids |

Well I do have a 3 PC set up ... I might have a friend that just stays afk alot and sticks to me while he is afk as we are leveling up and he just might happen to be a shaman |
|
Living on the edge eh? :p |
|
If you are on the same network or have similar IPs, your friend needs to log out anytime they are AFK. Otherwise youll get a ban for botting. |

Not a good idea! A friend of mine tried this and and was banned very quickly. Instead of wasting your time trying to get around the rules, be proactive about setting up groups using the LFG chat channel. It's more fun too! |

nleh was hoping it was not THAT serious, ahh well will make a soloable class to play then. Looking forward to this server/.

the dual logging rules are.. SERIOUS.. don't try and fool the staff, just look at the ban section to see what staff does to people why try to do that |

I am hehe I just had to test the waters
Will make a single acct no worries |
