Hi Folks!

I have another question on Old RA's. The Ability Mastery of the Arts gives +% Casting Speed but do not go under 2 seconds of casttime.

Is this a really handy ability as it sounds? With Aug Dex3 and red d/q i got 353 Dex and a really fast cast. Like 2,2 seconds with 3.0 cast (lv 50 supp single snare DD). And it was even around 2,0 with 2.8 spec nuke DD and same dex buffs.

Does anyone have a math for this?

Thanks in advice

Greetings

You dont need Aug Dex for castspeed anymore, youll get like 3 times the amount of casttime for the same amount of points by speccing MoA.

Thanks Paxx.

Yea, i 'd train Mastery of the Arts instead of augmented Dexterity. The point is just, how many MoA do i need to reach castcap? It just brings down the castspeed to 2 seconds, dunno if i waste points when i have red d/q anyways.

Humm, you sure, this calculator works fine?

352 Dexterity and no Mastery of the Arts and 2.8 Spec nuke = 1,4308 seconds!

You sure this is correct? you get easily under 1,5 sec with this calculator with only base dex + sc'd dex.
I bet even a troll bd gets near the 2sec cap with this calc ... /ponder

Sure, castspeed cap is 40% of the castspeed value, afaik.

There is no 2 second cap on casts.

Where do you get that bullshit from?

That calc is rather likely to use the same or at least a very similar formula as uthgard.

http://web.archive.org/web/200310012012 ... aster.html

Mastery of the Art Passive N/A 1 3 6 10 14 Augmented Acuity 3

Additional 3% per level casting speed when casting spells. Please note that the minimum allowed spell casting timer is 2 seconds – this ability will not allow you to go below this hard cap.

We won't know Uth GM's won't share there formula's they use, if they did it would prevent this sortha threads of taking place.

Well you sure? Its in the Old RA list, it even says so explicit.

Or could it be that (this might be possible) the cap is 40% if it doesn't go under the 2sec hard cap mentioned in the Herald?

eg.
3sec spell - (3sec * 40%) = 1,8sec > 2,0sec
5sec spell - (3sec * 40%) = 3,0sec

Nah, this cant be. I do not have 1,4 second cast right now even with 40% value cap.

I don't know what formula Uthgard uses, but its definately not this calc one
