I read somewhere that buffs on pets aren't working as they should(not strong enough)

So my question is, is it worth trying a summoning spec SM or I better roll a matter cabby or mana enchanter. I know cabbies and enchies can finish their focus pull with aoe but I want to keep in mind FOCUS only.

Thanks

Focus shield works well ... I did hear that the casted dmg shield and the focus don't stack like they should. You don't need the spec buffs to work, the focus damage shield does more then enough damage.

Both Shields stacks.

There is only one Drawback, the midgard one holds for mighty 60 seconds.

The Shields of the other Realms holds for 20 minutes though.

Cabby pet shield is not implemented for that simulacrum.

Plus cabby pet buffs besides dmg add dont function at all...

Just one of the (cabbie) pet bugs.

well, for the absorb of the pet going up with every buff on it, that works... sm pet with full shamy buffs gets significantly less damage than without buffs...
focus pull also works nicely, if you got a healer and/or shamy with you, fastest way to level (even though you are totally useless in rvr ;) )

Yea true, Funny though I seen far to many Albs and Hibs try to kill a pet with focus shield on it 0.o only in the bgs though.

There is only 3 spells you need on Summoning spec, and you don't even need a healer, though it makes it faster with one.

Realm DS
Pet DS
Pet Heal

Your golden and will level Ultra fast even solo

But keep in mind that nearly nobody runs with a sm in grp in emain.

not even sup sm's?
only melee grps in emain for midgard?
why is that?

plus, ive noticed when im buffing a pet (as a healer), i get the messages that the pet feels stronger and more health etc, BUT when i buff con, his health doesnt drop a lil (like it normally happens cause your max hps increase)

do base or spec buffs work on pets? what's up with that? maybe i should save my conc?

*points up* -> every single buff increases the absorb of the pet, not the evade chances, hp or anything, just absorb

^^

back when i started my SM the only spiritmasters who were taken in RvR were Lynisar, Facilien and myself... after those two stopped playing (or changed class or realm or whatever) i was pretty much the only one going at it, being solo, in smallgroups or in fg but i had the small advantage of having people i played with every single day and until i finished leveling my paci, then my skald and then my bersi, the sm was the only char i had to offer...

there have been others who started playing and stopped again but very few cross the line of 6L0 ;)

usually the same counts as for everybody else: if you're good at what you're doing, the class you play won't really matter

problem with sm in "normal" tank grp setup rvr is... one supp sm is pointless he can't kill anything, we tried it a lot.
Two supp sm might work, didn't tried that. But that would be more of a hybrid grp though.

A supp sm needs moc 3 and purge 2 as minimal RA's, which you can't get the RR for in the BG's.

Dark sm can be kind of useful, especially with baod 3... but should skill enough in supp for the small bomb for pet clear.

In general a rm is better in pet clear and single dmg, so more suited for tank grps -> sm have a hard time finding places in the normal tank setup in mid.

what do you consider official proof? i leveled 2-3 chars that are able to in pet spec, every single time you forget to put the pet buffs on (spiritmaster) or dont have a druid with you (enchanter), your pet gets hit for a lot more... (uthgard status)

if you mean official proof as in "what is it like on live?" i have no idea because that wasnt asked for

AF and con (increase absorb) should reduce the damage they take.

Str should only increase damage they deal.
