that video shows how it works on uthgard.

On live after you are hit with anything which will interrupt you, you have a 4 second (I think its 4 might be 3.something) period during which if you try to cast you will have your cast reset. Meaning your toon will go through the first part of the cast animation, then stop. If you hit your spell too fast after being rupted, and your cast is reset, and you again, hit your spell too fast, you can actually have your cast reset twice from one single occasion of interrupt.

As you can see in the video, on uthgard, if you just wait a moment (not even close to 4 seconds) you can start casting again without being reset.

im lvling a pac allong with an SM friend,
and i'd like to know if we have any hopes for a pbae grp in RvR :)

To few players want to play caster in prime time, cause of the high tank group love there is here on this server (patch limit favors tank ftm) so an additional sup sm is always nice.

Not sure what your friends spec is going to be but 50sup isn't that usefull go 49sup/22d/5summ or 49sup/21d/8summ.

well at the moment he is full sum for leveling purposes.
he will respec @ 49 after we've farmed our armor parts.
agreed on the specs u said.

but how r u guys doin in rvr?
is it successful?

FTM its pretty hard even with the broken rupt code!!!
Charge, SOS, 5min timer purge (purge3) vs no fast casting.

But when you can get a prekite out (best suited for that is a nice ae root) and can sit out the charge timer then you can actually kill a lot, but really hard to get it done :s.

However with OF RA this will ballance out more, charge will be gone, sos too * & purge is on 30min timer.

* Y Minstrel still has it, but in comparrisson to its NF version its laughable.

Heho,

The funny think is maybe, that you talk like hib is the only realm which sometimes have caster grps.
Midgard have also caster grps with 2 or more casters since Agramon. Even Teagen played sometimes as svg in a caster grp.
Mh maybe i should make a video , i have some fights with caster grp frapsed even with 4 casters.
That caster grp isn´t so easy is maybe true, but caster grp are so bad like some ppl are maybe think.

maybe for mids when they dont have to worry about zerks/savages blowing them up in 1 second if they prekite a second too late

Mids have the luxury of having caster groups be an option while hibs see it more of as an only choice, although there should be more hybrid groups. Which is hilarious because imo mid caster groups are just as good if not better.

Well for your explanations the old sos is even stronger then the NF version. If it's up it'll give the alb grp an 30second charge for every tank, a 30 second possibility for every other grpchar to get his ass free. I dont know why so many people underestimate the old sos. It's the stronger version of both (if you only compare effects, not timers).

For Det5 tanks it's a unbreakable 30second charge as stun/mezz wont last that long on det5 and root doesnt matter while sos is running.

From the things I've read so far:

Its a 30sec BYPASS, after the 30sec you get the CC effect of CC spells casted on you, so Y in those 30sec you are imba but afterwards you'll be CC'd anyhow and if the demezzer has mezz on him he'll have it too. BTW I don't think you can say all other CC is useless, especially with purge on 30min timer. A nice 60sec root on Alb mercs is a perfect way to give yourself some time to kill sorc/theurgs/clerics.

Also the speed is lower so any ennemie with high speed just has to do a 180° turn wait 30sec and then your precious 'group charge' SoS is gone.

Yes if the group is retarded enough to dump SOS from clipping range...

Anyway old SOS will probably be bugged so no point doing paper daoc about it yet ^^
I am assuming direct control.
