So i have a 34 eld in Braemar and I'm finding out that my stuns (only form of cc) are getting resisted farely often. I'm wondering if the lvl 50 elds run into the same problem? Also do the stuns even last more than a second on det tanks at 50? What about the aoe light mez?

The reason I ask is that I'm deciding if i want to make a BM for DPS because i'm thinking my eld might be worthless at 50. I am going to spec light but right now I'm mana spec.

Any help would be appreciated! :)

You don't want to be casting stun on a det tank. Same thing with mezz unless you really don't have another option. If you've got a bard, they should be mezzing. Their mezz will last like 10 seconds on a DET tank, yours will be just a few seconds. You want your champ/BM/hero landing the stuns. Your stun will last a second maybe, a slam will last 9.

As an eld, you wanna use disease and snare for CCing DET tanks. The snare won't last very long but doesn't give immunity so you can spam it, in combination with snare styles from your tanks. Snare + disease will slow a DET tank train. Stun + eld mezz will not.

True.
As an Eld with lvl 50 you'll NEVER use your caststun or Aoe Mezz against tanks. In grp RvR there are Slamtank & Bards for it. If you planned to play solo -> reroll a BM. ;D
Cause Eld is very hard to play solo with lvl 50. ^^

With Old RAs Eld might even be easier than BM ... :)

eld are supossed to be support, the best utility character in game, if u want a caster damage dealer should aim for light ment... and still will have to do support first, unless u want to play solo, wich will be impossible as solo caster in hib

Add to that casting speed increase, improved MoC, etc and you should be able to catch my drift ;)

Don't underestimate Eld dps. Eld is important dps in 2/3 Caster Setups. Even as the only caster defhero+eld assist works out.

for an eld that solos.. how important is physical defense 3-5? I'd assume very important for surviving a PA or crit shot and having enough time to purge or pop MOC in tricky situations

oh nice! Completely forgot about the rr5! whats the reusue timer on that?

Oh and for solo... would a light eld shine or a mana eld?? I've been playing my mana eld in the BG's and I like the disease/snare nuke combo on tanks... but maybe ns would more useful on them and mez.

In fact you'll get 1 unstyled hit with viper3 poison, try qc mezz (either resisted or purged), get 2nd unstyled hit, dump RR5 to go away and die by poison.
PA is overrated.
I am assuming direct control.
