Question about Ras selection for Blademaster

Hi,
after getting Det5 and Charge i want to push the damage a bit. what is the best ras for that. I was thinking about an order like that. mop 1 and str1 respec to mop2 mop2 str 1 mop 2 str 2 respec to mop3 building on str3 I am not sure what is better for damage mop or mostr. I remember there is some kind of matrix for casters (with the damage ras) i found as well this site which is nice for building caster ras http://www.daoc-friends.de/dmgcalc.htm Ois there something like that melee chars as well? any input would be nice. |

Aug Str is prolly better DPS then MoP (with Aug Qui being even better) but crits kill stuff.

If I am not mistaken, the Aug STR will increase your Weapon Skill slightly, which will help on higher mobs, maybe somewhat on enemy players? Hit more often, a little higher damage?

I think MoP is better than Str.
As a BM you have ~200 Str unbuffed and ~350 Str buffed. With +34 Str from Aug Str 4 you got ~10% more dmg (buffed) With MoP 4 gives you 27% + 10% basechance = ~4 of 10 hits will give you up to 50% more damage. Aug Str gives you more constant dmg but with MoP you will do more. Once you got MoP4 you will never ever give it away ![]() Uthgard till 2003!

first of all, thanks for the replies.
i am not good at this stuff but i try to do some math. and i am not 100% sure about my assumptions. any input would be nice so mop increase the % to do a critical hit. critical hits are random between 10 and 50% from the damage you do to your target (in rvr. in pve its up too 100%). that means. crit 4 gives you ane extra 27% to do 30% extra damage(which is the midle from a range from 10 to 50) extra damage. so if my math is right this would be an extra damage of 8.1%. so if its right what razzer said that mostr4 gives me 10% it would be better then mop4. guys iam somewhat confused ![]() example: say i do 100 damage crit is average 30 damage i have a 27% extra chance to do this damage. so i get 8.1% extra damage (overall). Jarysa, says Quick may be even better then both. any input on this would be nice as well. iam somewhat sure someone did the math for this stuff a couple of years ago, but i couldnt find anything about it. edit: searched the internet. but only found the overview for damage caster ras. http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=70591653 i am sure, the same exits for melees as well. Your math is wrong. You forgot the base crit chance. It´s actually ~7.864%.
Calculations for that are way more complex, as the gain for both str and qui depends on how much str/qui you allready have. Also the exact influence of str on damage is unknown (at least for live. and Uthgard staff will not give anyone their formula) and the influence of qui depends on LOTS of other factors. With all that being said: CRITS KILL PEOPLE. |

aye, your are right, i forget the base critchance. so the gain from mop4 is 7.8 not 8.1. thanks.
i guess i will start with mop for a lil bit more frontload. For quick. (I am a Firby with 15str and 10 quick at creation) The difference for my dual wield swing speed would be according to http://www.daocmaps.com/weapon-speed-calculator 2.08 now (203 quick 4.2/2.5 druidhaste) 1.88 with quick4 and same stats as above thats around 10% as well...funny ![]() so i guess i will push mop morestr and morequick. quick helps to crit and proc more often . and str helps to do bigger crits. |

10% is also wrong - would be the case if Weaponskill would be 100% made of Str.
But there is a BaseWS and the WS you gain from Weaponspec. So Aug Str 4 will maybe raise your damage by ~5% Uthgard till 2003!

till you are low rr, you should raise str. MoP 3 haven't much effect
When you got enough points go for MoP 4, you will make critics on mostly of your attack |

I would go MOP all the way, getting a lot of crits is much better than doing 10 more damage per hit.
With no MOP you crit 1/10 hit, with MOP3 you crit more than 1/4, it's worth it for 10 points in my opinion. I am assuming direct control.

Aye. And besides that, a crit damage spike is always useful for a kill in assist trains. It's easier to heal 10 damage over 15 hits, for example, and harder to heal 150 in one. ![]() Healowner - Alb/Merlin - The Guardians |
