Hi all I am new to Uthgard. I played DAoC for a few years on the Classic Server. I have always played Midgard, never really wanted to play another realm. I really enjoy DAoC especially RvR. I have been talking a lot with a friend of mine about coming back to the game. I found Uthgard and the freeshards by coincidence. I am glad to see people who love the game enough to run this type of server. I will be on and active in getting to lvl 50 for some big boy RvR action starting right away.
I am looking for some good people to party up with, maybe even join a guild if its a good fit. I am in no hurry to join up, I have soloed my way to 50 before so that is not the issue. I want to start building friendships and working toward contributing to a guild or a solid 8 man. I have had some great experiences with guilds and some really bad ones too. I don't mean it was bad because of skill; I mean people just not being team players and generally being terrible people. I am located in the USA on the west coast. I work nights, so I will be on in the early evenings or day times too. If anyone shares a similar time frame and would like to party up or just shoot the bull hit me up. I plan to start with either a savage or a berserker. I have also played a warrior, valkyrie, both shadow blade and hunter. I am open to filling gaps in peoples guilds or parties with a specific class. If you have an opening or need a specific player class post it here. Take care and have fun! |

you'll find a lot of people to play with in the daytime US because i'd say at least 70% of uthgard is european. for them your early afternoon is late evening.

 like Aste said at the time you will be online,you hit the primetime here and just about everyone speaks english so you wont have a problem concerning this. Well I ended up rolling a Dwarven Valkyrie! It will be great for soloing or lvling in small parties. I had a lvl 50 Valkyrie RR5 on the live classic cluster and it was alot of fun. had soome great 3man runs in RvR as well as in the 8 man.
The Valkyrie will be my main. I am also looking at rolling a stealth class eventually. From the look of the midgard realm we have more than enough berserkers and warriors. I may look into a skald as i had one in BG and it was fun too. Any thoughts on classes that midgard just doesnt have enough of? |

Ah I see, Ok thats fine I will reroll I suppose. Perhaps if the Valkyrie and mauler are not available they should be removed from the character creation screens.
Nice ana... thanks for the feedback... Really diggin the sarcasm... Just curious why remove these classes.... I doubt these classes broke the OG classic feel of the game... |

There are classes that were left in that are shrouded isles classes that dont "belong" in classic lol. Savage and Bonedancer were introduced as part of shrouded isles i believe... |

Yees!! Remove tajendi, reaver, valewalker, savage, animist and bonedancer... This way you wont need to script the necro at all!
OF was a definite fall back, lets see what old RAs will bring... Well, if you think about decreasing visible rvr action and increasing stealthwars as an improvement, in that case OF is an improvement. I hope, by following communitys "majority" votes Uth wont destroy themselves. |

DAoC before SI was a horrible game (LA totally OP, haste debuffs rupting, no SC, no CC immunities, etc.), therefore everyone in his right mind considers 1.62 to 1.65 to be the "classic" DAoC. How can you consider NF and NF RAs classic but not SI classes?  |

I know what belongs in your version of "classic". Lots of bugs, imbalances and flawed design that got fixed later on live but never on uthgard because balanced and fun rvr isn't classic. The Bird of the Hermes is my name

If daoc was any good at 1.69 I doubt so many improving patches would have been released and I doubt so many people here would only be against these pointless changes. I don't see classic daoc as something limited by an early patch with so much of the game left unfinished.
