Hey Guys!

My last post got sidelined due to the ongoing argument of what is classic and what is not. lol

So I will continue here and hope that it doesnt go that way this time.

I ended up rolling a Shaman, I have always wanted to play one but never have except in low level BG. I plan to take this guy all the way to 50 and beyond, lol. My toons name is "Thefridge" i am a troll shaman and am open for xp groups anytime I am on.

I also rolled a Valkyn shadowblade. You might see me on that toon also. It is named "Odiferous".

See you all out there, remember, "If its done with fun, you've already won!"

As a troll shammie its gonna be very very hard to go beyond lvl 50 in rvr.
Even though all an average shammie does is running through while farting disease you will be labeled as a slowcaster and it will be hard for you to get into the leet groups.

I will do fine with my troll. I plan on forming my own "leet" group so I am not worried about being accepted into the fold. One of the greatest things about this game is that there is more than one way to do things and more than one way to be good at the game. kobolds have their drawbacks too just like every other race. I will make my way with my Troll.

Anyone else have any great pearls of wisdom?

Uthgard needs more people playing like this. I will certainly keep an eye out for your characters when I'm online. Glad there are people playing to have fun and try some new stuff. I personally don't want to play with anyone who can't stand to have nothing but the "perfect group" anyway.

i like the attitude!

All the "i never find a grp, i have to sit 30 min - 1 hour spam lfg or try to build a pug and then the pug sucks" whiner never try to build something regular.

on the other hand it is not soo easy here to build a new 1337 grp, and even real good grps of new players have a hard time until they reach RR 6-7. But i wish you the best :)

Sure the attitude is honorable and i wouldnt recommend deleting if 35dex wasn crucial as a sham. but it is and hence if u want to do rvr u ll ve a huge disadvantage just since u did a wrong choice at the very beginning.

Ah cmon, in that case lets say:
He wanted to make a troll thane, with selfbuffs and some ranged damage etc, but misclicked in the beginning. He only noticed this mistake when he got like lvl 50, but by that time is was already a bit too late to delete that char so he will play the "thammy" in rvr.

Wouldnt be the first time for an, a little, irregular char to apear in rvr, right?

Again, I don't think my choice was wrong. I ran with plenty of Troll Shamans in my 3 years of playing live RvR on DAoC's classic server. In a pinch my Troll will be able to take a few hits and survive long enough to keep casting. I am not worried about getting into a group as I said before, I have a few friends on the Uthgard server who know that I am a capable player. I will prove my self and if you disagree with my play style that is fine. I also plan to hit all the BGs on my way up and hit Big Boy RvR with the highest RR possible. There is more than one way to play this game and I am not worried about sacrificing a bit of Dex for a more durable, and uglier shaman.

I also hope that when you see me coming with my shield, hammer and wearing chain armor, you make the mistake of assuming I am a warrior or other melee class. I have always preferred having the element of surprise. I also hope to be tested and prove my point in this regard. I plan to roll over anything I come across. Don't be caught playing an enemy realm when I come through. I look forward to fighting along side you all. Happy hunting.

There is no regular or irregular characters! This game has the best system for character race, class and equipment customization ever in any game ever made! People who subscribe to the school of cookie cutter "leet group" philosophy are missing one of the greatest aspects of this game. Some of the best RvR builds used today were created by out of the box thinking and "irregular" class builds years ago. Now they are called "leet" and everyone copies them. No original thought, even copying the exact play style they saw on the youtube videos. You might as well just buy your toon on ebay and rent someone else to play it for you so you can watch.

Glad you share my view of what makes this game great. The "perfect group" is a myth and it will always be the better players with the best teamwork that wins in RvR.

All so many think my kibbie warrior using a buckler is a shaman they find out pretty fast that it is not.
Its really funny when Mids ask for buffs or a res!

I have had troll shaman on Nimue and played with a few really good ones.
Personally I tend to make my aug shaman kibbie and cavers frosty.
Welcome to Uthgard hope to see you in RVR.

Just to make some things clear to you:

20 Con on a shaman means an asswhooping advantage of 70! Hp, while loosing 35 dex on a non ToA Server, without +buff and +castspeed, mean you loose something between 0.15 and 0.2 seconds per cast. Adding in the fact, that you are way easier to target, Troll simply is the worst choice possible for Shaman.

Just to proove to you, that i did read your "out of the box" post: Yes, thinking out of the box can sometimes help, but gimping your char in a big way, is not thinking "out of the box", but ignoring facts and simple math.

Anyways, have fun on Uthgard! Its a great server, even though Endgame RvR is not what it could be ;)
