[list=][/list] so 2 quick questions do battle druids work here? currently have a bard / eld duo lvl 30 ish and not having much success maybe cause were not 35 but would druid eld work better with insta heals and shell n such or better off stayin bard. is eld even a viable option for duo ? appreciate any repliee

"Battle" druids.. Erm... "Work" in PvE I guess? Although not too well.. And they are actually no viable option in RvR.

Unfortunately an eldritch is no good class to duo with. You should exp a bard with a melee.. Casters work best in Ment+Ench-Duo, otherwise get bigger grps.. Just single nuking mobs won't get you anywhere in a reasonable amount of time

Eld depends on realm rank, capped armor, the right spec and buff pots to work. It is a good duo, but it will require skill and patience to make the best of. Eld has the possibility of dealing with more than one enemy b/c of disease, snare dds etc. People around here tend to give up on stuff they can't master right away...

Also, performance in BGs means nothing. But I can guarantee you that it works in the endgame RvR (assuming sufficient skill on the players part).

A good level strategy would be to spec mana and get into bigger groups with your bard buddy all the way to 50. You will not be super-useful in the BGs (weak single dd), but it will get you to 50 in a much quicker pace.

If you want something 'easier', then bard/blademaster should give decent results.

And stay clear of a duo involving a druid - even nature spec - because having no speed makes you sitting ducks in RVR.

Just want to add that I was talking of PvE only. Ofc Eld is a good class in PvP and works well with a bard. But well, visible duoing is a different story

well then i would recommend a BM[best nixture of offense and defense if shieldspeced] instead of an eld ift its only for pve because the endu regen provided by a bard is way more powerfull then any manareg you can have.

Well , since he mentioned not being level 35 and whether that may affect performance, I am quite certain he is talking about RvR duos (as in Braemar, where 35 is lvl cap and lvl 30 chars get massacred by high lvl chars ^^).

Actually, his post was about neither of these things

They are now at lvl 30 and find that their bard-eld duo is not doing too great in Braemar. The question therefore is whether they should change setup or stick with it - presumably with the intend to level to 50 and participate in the end game rvr.

Yeah, I got that already, that's why I apologized for my misleading answer - Anyways, Braemar wasn't explicitly mentioned so I'm alright with getting confused

haha sorry about misunderstanding I was referring to rvr, leveling I can deal with even ifs its at a slower pace... its just ideally id rather have 1 high rr than multiple alts which is why I asked if eld bard is viable. my only expiernce has been braemar and we arent scd or even at lvl cap so that may be it but the eld has been down 90% of the fight.... we win then rez him up ( been in groups not much duo because of this). my friend offered to play any dps but doesnt like melee much which I know would have been alot easiee to run. just curios if anyone out there has runa successful castee duo... I forsee it gettin much worse when we encounter stealth zergs roaming will be done mostly although I hope to rush to defend claimed keeps and even participate in relic runs.. so far consensus is bard better than druid so maybe ill stick to it

If your still in the starter guild, just look for the two 50's in the guild.

Best duo on hib for emain rvr is bard + bm/melee ranger atm. Unplayable with caster - resist rate sux, VW miss like hell, hero has no charge, champ - no stoicism.

It totally depends on how you wanna play and there is nothing wrong with resists in RvR.

One can play eld + bard for sure. But you should know that its by far easier to stick to bm or vw + bard =) If you run melee + bard setup you dont have to play perfect and you will still win alot of fights.
With eld bard you will notice every single mistake, cause you are in Ligen again ^^
Imo eld + bard is still a very strong duo even with new RA -> charge sos and purge 3 is just a bad RA setup for a kite duo ^^
After various specs you should run 37 music, 43 nuture, 33 heal on bard with purge 3 sos 1. Eld should spec 41 mana, rest light and pd 3-4, purge 1.
The problems you have in Braemar are probably due to lack of either snare + disease or NS, since its in different trees and your duo only shines if you put all this tools together. So maybe just start in Thid rather than Braemar.
Ps: It's fun to play if you wanna run a duo with a caster it's probably the best duo you can roll
