Like you said the AE Mezz and the De-mezz spell are the only spells from minstrels which are affected by dex.

It's not a cast spell it's a song - so no dex bonus.

It is abit offtopic, but is there any benefit of the Minstrel Single Mezz being a song? Is it affected differently by resists or something alike? I also noticed that you can cancel your flutemezz after casting it on someone. Will it end instantly then? That would mean that I'd have to equip my flute for the whole mezz time and wouldnt be able to fight or support my grp with my ablative chant meanwhile because the mezz would end instantly after unequipping the flute.

the only advantge is it pulses so if you play it once an nothing else it will mezz on pulse on every target you target sadly the pulse was increased to like 26 sec ? i forget actually but it use to pulse alot sooner

that sounds wrong to me but ive never tested it in game so im not sure...some minst care to inform us?

Single mezz being a song is much more beneficial versus being a cast or instant. The benefits being, you can cast it while on the move and 'start' the song on the target, move out of LOS (you'll get the los message a few times if you do nothing else during the pulsing) then bouncing back out into LOS applies the spell. Stopping the song only makes a difference if you were attempting to start+apply it between pulses (ie - hiding out of LOS, then coming back into LOS to apply the song) it does not have any affect on the duration. It's just that, as long as you're playing the song, it attempts to reapply itself at the end of each pulse.
The pulse is much shorter, like 5sec. The spell duration is more like 26sec. Starting the song once, then selecting different targets for each pulse/spell to apply isn't something I do or have tested. I'm certain if you start the song and select a target for each pulse that it should theoretically work that way.....I've just never done that. Out of habit and playstyle I select a target and start+stop as it's much much faster than waiting on each pulse timer. The downside to that is the possibility of being interupted while starting the song for each new mezz application of course. Haven't actually tested it but the pulse isnt that long. Also the flute mezz song is great because you can be moving while casting or you can start casting it then move out of LOS and back into LOS to mezz targets.

There is a pulse but this only affects PvE where a "second" mezz mesmerizes the target again (halved on every try).
In RvR the pulse is just resisted because target already has the effect. Uthgard till 2003!

Exactly. The only other application the secondary pulse will have is for interupting purposes. You're not going to sit there with your flute out 99% of the time to "focus mezz" as you seem to think it acts. The song acts as a casted mezz but pulses for a few different situations as previously mentioned (interupting in RVR/PVE, reapplying mezz in pve, and the LOS trick in RVR). Alb - Eternitys, Eternityz, Spectres, Prophecy, Phantasm, Swarm
Mid - Spheres, Cicada, Aalea

+ it keeps the target interuppted.. ![]() |
