Hi there. My brother and I want to have some fun playing a stealth duo. Which duo do you think is the best?

Ranger/Ranger
Range/NS
NS/NS

I've heard that in this version, rangers were better with a melee spec than a Bow one, so in the duos I proposed previously, I assume the rangers are melee spec.

If you could say why we should use one duo or another and if possible, any idea of spec/RA..... ;)

Thanks in advance.

Uff other gankers.
Play NS/NS so at least someone can pass safe.

And please leave soloers!

I'd suggest high MoS archer and shade.

As the settings in RvR are at the moment (New RA settings w/ MoS, PD, etc..) the best bet would be hybred/mele ranger and shade, or 2 rangers. You would not want 2 shades because you need sombody with MoS to pick out assasins, which are the main classes u find in frontiers.

When they swich over to the Old RA settings you would be best served w/ 2 ns's or a ns and a very well played hybred/mele ranger. Mastery of Stealth is not in the Old RA settings, so the main reason that you would almost need at least 1 ranger in your duo above, would not matter here. Instead assasins are the ones who have the nice ability of seeing others' easily. A ranger on old settings is basically bait to draw in assasin classes when camo is down.

I think sniper spec can work in either of the 2 settings, but it really requires a special player and a partner who know's exactly what to do.

NS + Ranger gives most utility. Poisons are great for damage and tactics and in combination with ranger allow for kiting (snare + bowdmg), setting traps (bowpull + PA etc), killing targets that are healed (disease to reduce heal/instaheal values), reducing incoming dmg (str/con debuff) etc.
Of course good communication / voicechat is required. NS needs to play careful and defensive since he lacks defense (no IP, no PD, no spec-AF buff), but adds great utility and outdamages any ranger if played well.

The pro's of rangers are already mentioned: Better defense, MoS, dmg/rupt on range. So let the more emotional guy play ranger and the calmer of you both play NS.

(I am a kamikaze-style playing solo NS, so I know what i'm talking about :D )
