I see a lot of Hibernians playing in battlegrounds but I don't see many late-night (American time), or during the day.

Do most Hibernians play for PvE and reroll? Do they have a smaller population?

I do not understand what is going on here..

Just try Hib RvR :) then you know why.
Several Grps joined Hib, formed Static Grp, Dinged 50 and 4L2, and left before they reached rr6. Now these ppl play alb or mid with the same ppl and, what a surprise, win a lot of fights and gain rr fast.
I prefere Hib cause its a challenge, Alb and Mid is boring imo. Maybe we meet @ Emain if there are some decent Hibs up for RvR :)

if they are to lazy to move the ass out, dunno. but actually are 2 grps of hibs often in emain wich shows that hib-rvr is psbl.

What is specifically wrong with Hib on Uthgard?

I played hib almost exclusively back before ToA and remember Hibernia to be a good realm. What's different here?

ToA and classic have many differences.

Albs have theurgs and spec AF.

Mids have uber tank trains - celerity, highest dmg off tank, classes allow for groups to have full resists and buffs.

Hibs have.... uhh? Nothing.

Until old ras when bomb groups are more worthy and casters can actually goe toe to toe with charge tanks, hib will be the underpowered realm. When OF releases, they become the new midgard. ( easymode )

Hibs have nothing? If you're thinking 8 man, here are some pros:

All casters have same elemental baseline DD (light) making it convenient to build caster groups around light debuff--which is as common as enchanters are (for non Hibernian players, that's common).

Casters have stun, which is convenient as it frees up support (clerics, healers) from having to cast it. This means that Hibernians players do not have to balance offensive and defensive thinking, typically, and are safer with tunnel vision as compared to other casters.

Hibernians have the highest healing power of all realms, typically, as a 8-man will generally run 2 druids and a bard, all of which are generally specced proficiently in healing.

If you're thinking small-man, then Hibernians are capable of creating strong groups, as a bard brings some of the most utility in one class as any in the game.

They also have the Eldritch, which is one of the highest utility casters in the game.

There are other subtleties but in the end, I can't see any significant issues why Hibernia wouldn't be as capable as they were when I played them pre-ToA.

I think the main issue is how easy or difficult it is to build a PUG. And a Hib caster group is extremely PUG unfriendly, because it requires quite a bit of coordination. Also, with the lack of e.g. aoe root, it is quite a bit harder than e.g. an alb caster setup. Since your enemies are mostly high RR charge3 tanks, you need both fairly high RR supps to compensate for that, a guard tank and a warden doesn't hurt either for twf3 and backup heals (don't usually see bards doing a lot of healing tbh, more important things require their attention ^^).

And if you limit yourself to comparing different kinds of hybrid or tank setups, both Alb and Mid have an advantage here. WoG shows that a pure tank setup can work quite well, and a tankgroup + eld has also proven reasonably successful. But elds are hard to come by, especially in PUGs.

there's not that much eld around at all.
futhermore, most of them are not competitive which is really sad as a key char against tank grp ^^

I'll be more than happy to change from PvE to RvR as soon as my chars are ready, but what most lack is a sense of community or perspective. What guilds recruit active players, who helps and organises BGs for RvR? Mind, this is my limited experience, but giving players hitting 30+ a perspective they can work towards helps a lot imho.

Hib relies on its casters for power, yet due to Uthgard's custom setting where there is no +castingspeed%, the part where Hibernia outshines other realms to a degree is neglected throughout the server, whereas for instance Mid's strength is augmented with the NF Charge etc.

Patchnote and RA setting is what ****** up Hibs more than anything.

I cannot imagine that a slight imbalance towards Mids/Albs makes that much of a difference.
I played Midgard before and there is much more of a community there, players get recruited etc. I have yet to experience anything like that in Hibernia, even though I have to say individual players are very helpful! But get a larger player-base of people interested in RvR 40+ or even 30+ into guilds and I am sure Hibs won't be that keen on PvE anymore..
What also surprised me is the fact that battlegroups are hardly ever used as a tool for communication in case of keep def or in BGs. Would make coordination easier I think instead of relying on group or (starter) guild chats.

So if you established players want to profit from the recent surge in players help them with:
-equipment (crafters who give away some cheap gear to new players are extremely helpful)
-buffs (dmg add/shield - great, thanks to the many who already do that)
-guild information (who recruits?)
-groups (give new players a chance to prove themselves and learn even if they aren't high rr)

When you have the cash to provide all your chars with great equip and potions you forget how hard it is for new players to get somewhere, if that is coupled with a lack of community and help you'll likely give up even though you'd love the rvr later on.

Lasatard came about as close as I can to explain why Hib RvR is hard to come by. To play on Hib groups it requires a tad more communication and coordination then Alb or Mid groups. Because of this you end up with a few guilds that run some very well played set group's and they may pick up a couple extra people when some of their normal group are gone. Because of this the RR4L2 players coming out of thid have a hard time getting a group. So they do like they did in Thid and form up a PUG group of whatever they can find. They run out a few times and get rolled, then 75% of them decided BG's were much easier and they go make a new toon. 15% of them decide to make a stealther so they dont have to worry about finding a group for frontier RvR. 5% move onto a different realm. The remaining 5% stick it out and end up being one of the 30 or so main hib RvR players. Its really just a matter of culture in Hib. The culture does not enforce that it takes time to get a group of RvR players to learn tactics and how each other plays. After 2 or 3 times getting rolled 1/2 the group always quits.

Amnesie not working correctly is a serious handicap for Hib Grps as well
