I'd say full creeping(at the least until lv20) along with a staff with creeping focus levels should do the trick pretty well.

I just made an animist and was thinking of going 36 Creeping and 40 Verdant for the final spec. With gear and some RR Creeping could be easily maxed for turret damage consistency. Verdant provides some nice buffs and bubble. Anyone know how well this spec will work out?

I don't really see mine doing well in the BGs or big boy RvR, so I'll probably just group with bards and ments and use some alchemy to level him to 50. After that I think I'll just do keep takes and guard tasks for rps. At least enough to get the basics like serenity and mcl. Any thoughts or advice from some RvR animist would be greatly appreciated. I don't plan on doing much RvR with him though, mainly just farming, dragons and keep/relic raids when necessary.

Very nice thread. I can't wait to see how it develops. I love learning more about this class.

I must start by saying I am in the Western United States, which means my prime time is perfect for the study of crickets. I rarely find others to group with. This entire reply is from a solo point-of-view.

I was arboreal until 40 then I respec'ed to Verdant. I do not recommend arboreal for PvE, it is decent, but I could do better with a light spec enchantress to be honest. To really shine I think you should consider one of the other lines.

I am still testing my 50 Verdant / 19 Creeping / 7 Arboreal animist to see if I like it for PvE. I went Verdant because I was tired of pets not holding aggro and me getting hit. Now though, I have to find fields of blue mobs to kill, which is a huge challenge and very limiting. I have heard that Verdant can do amazing things though, I am still learning before I give up on this spec.

I do often envy seeing Creeping specs hunting where they want and chain pulling multiple orange mobs, I do see them get hit alot too though from the (quickly) dying mobs, so if you go Creeping make sure you have top notch armor / defense, maybe high Verdant as a backup would be good for the ablative armor buffing turrets. I have never tried this spec though so I am just speculating on what I have observed others do.

I am still learning, I also made my animist for PvE only. Although I have RvR'ed quite a bit with her too (hence the 7 arboreal for the base tangler turret) with admittedly sup-par results, I have managed to get the following RAs for PvE though:

Serenity II
Ethereal Bond II
Raging Power
Mystic Crystal Lore

Thank you for posting!

Planning 48verd 24creep on my ani once 50. Highest pet pba for farming in df, decent pet, aoe PBT and a very handy 9% absorb for pet, or other hibs when raiding. I was full creep spec, but it didnt offer me any bonus tools other than pet snare.

. . .and btw Arb is very nice in the bgs. The lifetap + snares from creep are very handy, as well as con debuff for insta interrupt. And even though bombers are gimped here, I averaged 250-300 a hit in thid. If yer target is snared or not looking, you can get 2 bombers off then lifetap chain for very nice burst damage.

The big problem with Verdant is that the pbae apparantly doesn't profit from int, much like the bombers.(unless this has been silently fixed recently)
So imho using more/better dd turrets are a better use of your mana.

Reading up some more on Animist on Uthgard, it seems Creeping or Verdant is the way to go for sure. I'm curious as to how much variance the DD turrets in the Creeping baseline have if you go full Verdant for leveling. Do the other perks in the Verdant specline make up for it or does it make any difference?

I plan on leveling mostly solo and possibly some duo, but I wouldn't turn down a good group.

I prefered creep for leveling to 50 for the perceived benefit to shrooms. The verd pet pba does work, buts better on blues than yel/red mobs resist wise. Verd is better for me @50 for farming df/cm in mass pulls with short and long duration absorb. S :( hroom damage shouldn't be a concernwith 24creep by then.

Just my opinion. Open to critique. . .

I was 49 creep specc and respecced then to abo.
I dont know why ppl say creep is so excelent for pve, sure maybe you can shroom more higher shrooms but its not really that much, you can shroomcap with lvl. 5 shrooms as well in group to break resists of mobs, the root and spiritspells are wasted imo, root timer is too short 20 sec. or so and i didnt realise any effect of the debuff shrooms/spell to mobs, I think it doesnt work or the effect is really small.

I prefer, as long as i collect rps ,Aboreal specc.
You have to use the lifetab its quite excelent spell and I did many kills in thid with it. Most ppl say animist is gimp cause the spirits sucks at ith, but the lifetab does it well.
I also put some tangler at beginning of an open field fight to snare enemy tanks and pets, works well in good groups that know how to kite a bit. ,-)

Maybe I try to reach somehow rr5 and respecc then to verdant line for farming bossmobs in grp like tajendi, but i l lnever go creep again, too less utitliy in my opinion.

Yes I agree Jerrian, Creep itself isnt very great. But for the purpose of leveling\wilton\braemar, creeping works. And @50 its better as a secondary to Arb\Verd. My ani Mickee had a blast in thid with Arb, sadly I capped 2 days ago or I'd still be causing havoc.

hi, whats about ani and rvr/ 8vs8?

i know this server with new ra's but w/o toa&co is really melee-friendly, but as i can remember, anis with 48-49creeping (dunno the specc exactly) were really nice caster with the spirits and tangler.

its also just this server, because something is bugged or as i said before only the ra situation, that eld is the highest utility caster right now(and after that bm's are preferred for dps)

€dit: int does not affect bomber dmg, so spirit of hatred with 225delve does not that much dps like other casters or?^^ got it..^^
