They keep you in combat (combat timer) but they don't rupt. Difference is you can start casting again, but you won't - for example - be able to use MCL, to stealth etc...

some mobs (also in the FZ zone got special dots, that rupt EVERY tick but NOT implemented)
also the pboae dot of the necromancer rupted also with every tick
