how come i always see high lvl VW's roaming with big groups in emain but ppl here say they arent even on the list of accepted classes?

sometimes i think the ppl who actually go to these forums are the ppl who have been here far to long who end up sounding negative about most of what the game offers lol...

Nobody has ever said that VW's NEVER get groups in frontier RvR, they are just not listed as a class you would want for an optimum set up. I see alot of VW's get groups for RvR. More often then not its in PUG groups or in guild groups. In the visi RvR groups i've been in lately we've had a VW with us a couple times, but its usually been because we couldnt find another tank (hero or bm) to fill the slot. VW's are the HIB version of the friar. GREAT SOLO CLASS, not quite what is needed in a group. They are slow to attack, dont have shield for any CC or gaurding, most of their big styles are side styles which are hard to perfrom in 8 vs 8 when moving around alot, and your best style has an AOE effect on it which is horrible when you want crowd control. Also, as you pointed out, alot of those VW's you are talking about are high RR and it's easier for them since they have the benefit of having lots of RA's and also having lots of experience. You would be amazed at how many low RR VW's I've seen run into a group of mez'd opponents and then do their side chain ending with them de-mezzing that whole clump of people.

for anyone to compare a VWs dmg output to a friar , is just really really remedial. friars are useless because there heals suck and there dmg sucks....

VWs arent as useful because of the no protect or shield etc,, i get that... but to say there dmg is slow etc is just really stupid... sorry but VWs outdmg most classes on Hib with some good gear and a few RAs not to mention VWs also get a self haste that they can recast every minute thirty and only stupid VWs use slow scythes there are scythes that are 4.5 , 3,9 etc making them a 2 hand class that attacks as fast as a 1 hander hero... can you say DPS?,

Also dont use your AOE style... problem solved there

By the way if you want to compare VWs to a class compare them to the other SI classes the VW came out with , Alb = reaver , Mid = Savage not compare them to a friar cuz they both wear robes lol... which basically makes them a strange hybrid , like the reaver and savage , not ness just like them but no class is like the VW , reaver, or Savage

vw is pretty nice as long as it has det5. the missing stoi is balanced by the hybrid skills. in addition the dmg vs alb is rly awesome^^
but most vw's dont go for det5 since its pretty useless for solo rvr. but without det5i see no reason to grp a vw.

it will be kinda same like its with reaver on alb. atm its a pretty nice char, but the moment it will lose det (of ra's lolol) it will become useless for propper grp rvr.

There is one class u can replace with another in a hib tank group, that makes hib tank groups really strong. Mb ran it a few times .Hint : the class is hibernia's overpowered class.Any guesses?: D

Hey Gregross, when I was comparing Friar and VW I wasnt comparing their abilities or the way they play at all. I was using Friar as a comparison since they are very good solo classes and not quite so good in groups. Not for the same reason, but they fall in the same category.
