New to Alb and my buddy is ahead of me leveling a paladin. I am not really looking to level a melee other than maybe an armsman. I was wondering if anyone might have any good non melee duo ideas for a pally at later levels.

Not really. Pally lacks damage and boosts melee classes most (i.e. endureg, maybe guard etc). You really need a DPS class, but caster/pala is not a good combo.

If you must, play smite/buff cleric, but I would NOT recommend it :D

Ah that is unfortunate, well if I must play a melee how good are minstrels at solo leveling compared to say infils?

Both classes do fairly well for solo levelling. Minstrels can charm pets and have 2 DDs to increase damage, infiltrators have poisons to improve damage and have high-damage styles off evade (which they do quite often).

For duo partner I'd still go with minstrel, speed chant will help to get around, and infis are not really accepted in groups (both for levelling and RvR), so pala/minstrel duo will be more versatile. Merc is probably best duo partner for paladin, but if you don't like pure melee classes, don't do it! Better to level/play 130% of time and have fun than level 100% and hate it.

Plus, pala/minstrel can do well as a duo in the battlegrounds.

Armsmen are a member of the Defenders of Albion. They are heavily armed fighters that can carry almost all melee weapons and the heaviest armor, the armor plate. They are characterized by high defensive and offensive qualities. Armsmenr have hit the highest score in Albion and absorb a large part of the melee damage from their armor. If they carry a shield and specialize in it, they can form a virtually impenetrable defensive wall. They specialize in contrast to two-handed swords or polearms, they cause considerable damage on their enemies.
Polearms / greatsword: 50
Shield: 42
Weapon: 39
Parry: 13 (with cut / blow), 6 (in shock)

This may be weapons masters in the emergency act defensively, has its relatively high shield skill but really only for the hours. The 39 points are only the base weapon damage (cut, blow or collision), while the 50 points in two-handed sword or polearm bestimmmen the maximum damage. Therefore, you master these weapons only with a plate in his hand to see if he will just stun someone. After the hour is, however, then the two-handed sword or polearm unpacked to really do damage. Both in PvE and RvR in very useful. As a master-level line should be taken of the warlord, as he was in the Assist Train to act supportive. Similarly, the fight master for bodyguard is possible because the styles from the snare and two-handed polearms line a tank can take almost completely from the game.

But dont forget: Common sense in uncommon degree is what the world calls wisdom.
