Ok, I'm new to Uthgard and playing here is the best thing since sliced bread. Running around classic made me remember what I truly loved most about this game, friends and companions. I, like many of you, have played plenty of "other" games with lots of "ooohhh shiny" this and that. However I always came back to daoc much like a first love. So that brings me to a question for everyone,

What is/was your favorite moment in daoc?

Mine was on Live back in the early days of SI. My guildies from Elder Spirits, wife and I were leveling in Avalon City when we both got our first 50 ding at the same time. Back then leveling was a grind and a half. My guild had camped in there for days just to get us that last level or two. That meant a lot and I truly miss those people. I hope to find similar friends here on Uthgard. So far just about everyone has been great and I have high hopes.

good days!!
ppl here haven't any idea how friars was performing on old daoc (the one that Uthgard want to "emulate").
and what about friar vs full buffed sb's (BEFORE l'axe Nerf, because after the nerf/fix of laxe any sb was thinking to attack a friar ^_^), or when friars just 3 shot poor ns'eds/rangers so crazy to attack alone ^_^
back in days, the only class i really remember was a pain was champions, there was a luri champions that, damn, was killing my friar 70% of times ;(

good days ;(

anyway my best days was:

- post SI, patch 1.60, a lot of bugs (laxe not fixed yet, savages bugged on quad hits chances etc etc), but damn fun

i had fun on post toa+nf with new ra's too, but only because i was playing a minstrel on Mordred (ehehehehe) ...

The funeral of Stoni, Albions Zergleader on Avalon. This funeral was held in Odins Gate in 2001 and organized by God's Army. It was really special as in this times for everyone it meant red=dead, though hundreds of people formed a huge cross and noone was fighting at all. That was atleast the moment i remember with alot of feelings... i had many best moments in DAoC tbh.

My favorite moment in DAoC?
Easy question.
Having a guildgroup with guildmates for nice rvr or tajendi.

When i, about 2 weeks before nf release dinged 50 on my first toon, a pally, went to the frontiers for a tryout.
There i met a lurins that failed to pa me, now that i think about probably in same situation as me even if not lower level, without any buffs aswell, having died to me without many problems while i raised in rr thanks to that kill, from lvl1,1 to 1,3 or something like that. I thought, wow am i strong having gotten lvl 50! And this high feeling continued until i got killed without having any chances by another nightshade not even a minute later.

In general it would have to be the rvr pre spellcrafting and SI.

But for the single most memorable moment, it must be from early ToA. When a ml9 mob bugged, and a GM and me decided to fill entire ml9 with wee wolfs while waiting 20 min for the dev to come look at it

First best moment:

Buying Arrows for my Scout in Sauvage, when a message appeared, that invited me to a relic raid. In fact it took five hours and about the same amount of frames to let me know, that this game, even when it was unplayable, was the best I've ever paid for.

Second best moment:

The time spent in Emain with lvl 37-44 until I got myself back to leveling. Twoshotting SBs with Truesight and hiding till its up again FTW! ^^

Last but not least:

When we were in a group of 5 at the AMG all around lvl 46 with blue gear and one single Hero killed us all, after we engaged him. Name: Kein

Hello All... I am looking to see if any of my old guildies are on here still. I was on Merlin server on the Albion. I was in two guilds. They were Warriors of Legacy and Elder Spirits. I was known by Samlis or Tilus. I am just wondering if anyone remembers me.

I don't have any interesting crazy moments, but when I was child when SI came out was probably the greatest experience ever, i loved the scenery the music, the new mobs, class ect. Oh I also played on mordred and only mordred for many years.

For me it is easy. 2002 Merlin Albion.

I played Merlin Alb and we were badly outnumbered. Midgard on Merlin in the 2001-2003 days was the dictionary definition of Zerg. A bunch of "uber" guilds decided they wanted Mid Merlin to rule and ended up with 55% of all active level 50 players.

It was so bad we had to make a deal with hibs to unite against the mids.

Mid had all 6 relics for months at this point and even talking of getting them back was seen as impossible.

I was playing a Smite cleric as my main and the GM of my guild Divine planed a relic raid in secret including talking to the hibs to get them in on it.

At about 2am on a Monday or Tuesday night we gathered a massive force of albs. So many albs porting into odins that we had to go in waves. Visur refused to port us all at once. Just porting everyone over took a huge chunk of time.

I had a top of the line system for the time and I had to turn everything to low/off and set my res to 640x480 just to make the game playable.

Anyway the hibs ran interference on the mids and did not target any albs. Mid was so desperate freaking gray mids were rushing the relic keep in waves was totally ridiculous At such a late time we got in and got the relics. . Alliance chat went completely crazy as people would laugh at the notion you could possibly compete with Midgard.

I have never seen a battle that large in any MMO since.
There will be a group of people out there who will want this realm to be entirely Mythic-like. Exactly like vanilla, drop rates/xp rates, basically everything and you will not be able to please them unless it is exactly like vanilla.

These people have their nostalgia goggles on so tight it's cutting off the bloodflow to their brain and they believe that vanilla was perfect and nothing was wrong with it.
