Is there any resist which is "useless" ?

Hi,
im currently equipping my inf, and i need a pretty affordable equip so no uber bracers etc... -> is there a resist which can be low or like zero? i read something about spirit? what u guys think about? I want to craft an INFtemplate which is very good +11 cs, thrust, dw template all cap but 0 (zero^^) spirit resist. What u guys think is that possible or do i need those resists? pls help thx |

you can skip spirit as an infi as long as ur opponents dont ve spirit procs on weapons ![]() |

![]() And for your melees, Heat&Cold are most common dmgtypes for procs on dropped weapons. All, na most DoTs are matter, there is one heat DoT that ive got myself but thats all, bad idea. Body, all envenom is based on body, dont skip it. Which leaves you with Energy and Spirit. You could drop em both, dont remember, Thane & Vale are energy... Choose your targets well, because you might end up onehitted by a certain class. |

Depends how you look at it.
- on an infi, what caster dps are you really facing? -if you are in melle range of the caster, they die. -if you aren't in range, well odds are you are either gonna pop vanish or run, because you arent going to close the gap thanks to a few extra percent less dmg. when was the last time you got blown up by a caster open field and thought "if i only had 50 more hp i would have lived!" I'm not saying that its a great idea to gimp all your magic resists, but gimping them on a class like an infi that can totally pick thier fights is very viable to save money until you can afford a good template. and personally id rather see an infi template with a hard +11 envenom to optimize viper dmg than one that had perfect resists but had to swap to xbow. but maybe thats just me. On any class, your top 4 resists are: 1-3) slash/crush/thrust (melee) 4) Body (poisons because assassins are like roaches on this server, and 95% of CC) after that id hit up the primary caster dmg types: 5) Heat (BASELINE STUN, & popular nuke dmg type) 6) Cold (most popular nuke dmg type) Then the bottom 3 are: 7) energy (thanes, menty ae dot, animists + vw LT, and hib pbae) ![]() 9) spirit (spiritmaster pbae. yeah the other nukes form SPIRITmaster are actually cold dmg) |

so heres what i got now what do u think of it? its pretty cheap (ofc theres mp leather but ok..) at first i had all cap except envenom and just spirit low but after i read netchel comment i rethought it and this is what came out: i could drop a little heat for other resists... You know what DoTs are, dont you? You know that most enemies youll ever face(other 1vs1 pros and stealthers) got their weapons and armors in some cases filled with DoT-procs... I hope you know they hurt? But whatever, its your toon. |

Well thats because i started the discussion because im not sure if its a good idea to make a pretty cheap template with +11 everything and drop some resists for it for more dps output or is it absolute crap.
i just want to know it - i havent played much in lategame rvr so im hoping some guys of you know what they r talking about.. the prob is a inf temp with all cap all resists charge items are too expensive. so you think dropping matter is a bad idea.. what would u say better drop energy for it ? or maybe should i drop +11 env for more resists? thx edit: researched dot proc armor didnt know thought most run around with dd proc: (DoT)47 64 pro Tick 20s r, 4s Ticks,matter |

DD = about 120 ONCE!
DoT = 60 x 5 times! What does hurt more? As an infi you can drop spirit, but thats it. Dropping energy will make you very vulnerable to thanes, and there are some thanes and valewalkers. There are several of that kind running around. Not as much as one would wish for, but still... The other point is, that as a low rr infi, you wouldnt stand a chance against these 2 anyway so yes, you could drop it.

you dont need +11 envenom. make a temp with 4envenom and take a swap item with +7envenom for applying poisons

- you dont need + 11 envenom no. theres a reason why people buy mp xbows. either a 99% xbow with +7 or an mp with +8 is very common. - however, you will suffer from some damage loss due to dot varience unless you hit 50 composite envenom. given that envenom is 80% of your damage after perf, I cant see how you can justify skipping out on + envenom to instead max out a resist that will only help you vs a few rare enemies only some of the time should they actually get a cast off against you. |
