Hi, maybe it's a stupid question, but i'll ask anyway to be sure -
is 50dw/50crush/rest parry specc viable?
It would still have the anytime stun but would the higher dmg compensate the lack of slam?
(lets also assume that there is another merc with slam in the grp)

I think it would be fine, there were no issues (and still are no issues) with 50/50/28 mercs in RvR on live. Especially 8v8. As long as you have 1 person able to stun/snare and people know how to assist, and you are playing well, the target will drop. I find it useless for 3 shield mercs in a group (especially with diminishing returns and immunities). Thats a lot of wasted damage potential.

damage is only wasted if you use only crush styles.

not if you use DW styles

I dont play Alb so I cant say for sure, but I have fought many crush and no shield spec mercs and they can be a handful in 1 vs 1 fights. I would think it would be a tad tougher to get a group only because IF they needed an extra shield player for gaurd/slam/whatever then you would not get taken. I ran a similiar spec (50 crush, 50 cd, rest parry) on my BM and ended up respec'ing him after some time when I realised that my overall utility in groups was diminished.

So to answer your question, Yes, they can be viable. However, I would reccommend not doing it since with shield it will only increase your chance of being able to do whatever your group needs.
